Exciting news from earlier this month! Our Director of Small Business Services, Tia Jackson, Director of Data and Outcomes, Enrique Ponce, and Data and Research Specialist, Andrea Perez, had the privilege of attending the National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders (NALCAB) conference. We are incredibly grateful to NALCAB for their continued efforts in empowering nonprofits like JPNDC to foster economic prosperity and provide essential resources to Latino communities. Thank you for the vital work you do. We're proud to be part of a broader movement dedicated to supporting Latino communities and driving lasting, systemic change!

Once completed, Brookley Flats will be the largest affordable homeownership project in the city of Boston! Because of racism and real systemic barriers, people of color are far less likely to own a home compared to white families. Our preference for first-generation homebuyers will help 20 such families build assets they can pass on to the new generation.

At JPNDC, we're committed to empowering our community! 🌟 This summer, we proudly launched the Building Futures Youth Fellowship Program in collaboration with Brookline CDC. Through this initiative, eight youth from affordable housing communities explored diverse career paths in real estate development. A big thank you to E. Ricky Guerra. for her vision and leadership in bringing this program to life, as well as all the incredible partners who made it possible: JPNDC's own Andrea Grimaldi and Ezra Korn-Meyer, Josu’e Velney of Velney Development, Shirronda Almeida of MACDC - Mass. Assoc. of Community Development Corporations, Eva Scapicchio from Gilbane Building Company, State Rep. Samantha Montaño, Travis Watson, and Sam Maloney of Studio G Architects, Inc. Lastly, a special shout-out to the residents at The Nate Smith House for being a wonderful audience during the final presentations! 🙌

Summer is almost over, but JPNDC has made back-to-school a little easier! Over the past few weeks, we gave out about 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to JPNDC residents and their families. On behalf of JPNDC, have a wonderful school year! #backtoschool #summerevnts #communityorganizing
