With continuous funding from #NIH for nearly a decade, the iCREATE project has supported future leaders in the field of violence and injury prevention in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Today it trains researchers in acute injury treatment in #Georgia 🇬🇪, #Armenia 🇦🇲, and #Republic of Moldova 🇲🇩 Led by the University of Iowa and Universitatea Babeș-Bolyai (UBB) / Babeș-Bolyai University of Romania, the Increasing Capacity for injury Research in EAsTern Europe (iCREATE) program aims to improve acute injury treatment while expanding on previous capacity building efforts . At our July all-hands meeting, #Fogarty welcomed new summer interns working with our Division of International Epidemiology & Population Studies: Julia Paoli University of Florida; Maya Risin Emory University ; Catalina Posada, Princeton University; and Genevieve Blanchard, Harvard University. Two more interns, Christopher Shin and Lyat Malese, both at Harvard, couldn't be at the meeting -- but we welcome them in spirit!
