Smarter financials, faster insights

About us

Jirav is an all-in-one financial planning and analysis (FP&A) solution that delivers smarter financials and faster insights, helping you understand where your business has been and more accurately predict where you’re going. The system connects financial and operational data to easily explore historicals, and accurately forecast bookings, revenues, workforce, expenses, and cash flows. At Jirav, we’re creating a people-focused culture where the innovative and passionate feel at home. We’re here to build something different—something we believe is the future of financial technology. We chose the name “Jirav” for a reason. Like the giraffe and its astounding height, our solution gives finance leaders the best view possible—both historically and future-looking—so they can drive their businesses forward with confidence and speed. And like a giraffe’s spots, which are unique to each individual giraffe, our company is different from others like us in the market. We’ve made complex financial forecasting and modeling affordable and accessible to businesses and teams of any size. And while financial models may look alike and be built similarly, the internal components are unique to the company the models are built for (much like a giraffe’s spots—you see where we’re going with this), and Jirav can work with it all to lead any business down a path to faster growth. There’s never been a better time to join Jirav as we continue to scale and expand our own team, and what we can offer our customers. DJing and Financial Modeling: Tweaking Knobs = Perfect Harmony I’m sit on the sunny beaches of Portugal, enjoying a beer and watching DJ Ze (I think!) turning the knobs on his turntable, I remember my roots and how similar DJing is to building a financial model for a startup. Both require a keen sense of balance, precision, and an understanding of the underlying components that drive the ultimate outcome. Some people want to give you a formulaic approach to FP&A but it comes down to love for the art, feelings, and a sprinkle of acumen. 🔊 Tuning the Knobs: Finding the Right Balance A DJ controls elements like volume, bass, treble, and tempo, each adjustment impacting the overall mix. Similarly, in financial modeling, drivers like revenue growth rates, operating expenses, and capex are adjusted to reflect different scenarios and potential outcomes. 📈 Leveraging Drivers: ❤️ of Financial Modeling Just as a DJ knows how to read the crowd and adjust the music, an analyst must understand the business and founder or biz owner and its biz model to set realistic drivers (80/20). This requires blending art and science, making informed assumptions based on data and insights. 🎨 Creating Harmony: Assumptions & the Role it Plays! A DJ experiments with different beats and tempos until finding the perfect mix. Similarly, an analyst refines assumptions to nail the model accurately reflecting the startup’s financial expectations 💡 Lastly, Visualization: Bringing the Model to Life A DJ’s performance is felt through beats and visuals, while a well-built financial model is brought to life through compelling charts and dashboards and department and investor reporting, helping stakeholders make informed decisions. In both DJing and financial modeling, the goal is to deliver a seamless and engaging experience. Whether turning the knobs on a turntable or tweaking drivers in a financial model, the essence of the craft lies in finding the perfect balance… business, finance and people, not just a prescribed approach. #virtualCFO #DJLife #FinancialModeling #Startups #FinancialPlanning #FPA GrowthLab Finance-as-a-Service

Accountants are the most important analysts that businesses need. Here are 10 habits of accountants that make them invaluable: 1) They shape core decisions with insightful advice. 2) They anticipate future trends and see the big picture. 3) They take initiative to identify and improve opportunities. 4) They directly contribute to overall success and profitability. 5) They think like business owners, not just number crunchers. 6) They quickly pivot and respond to changing business needs. 7) They constantly seek ways to scale and expand the business. 8) They boost efficiency using the latest tools and technologies. 9) They simplify complex financial data into easy-to-understand insights. 10) They align financial strategies by collaborating with cross-functional teams. The future of accounting isn't just recording financial transactions. It's about driving meaningful business outcomes. People rely on accountants not just for their technical skills. But their ability to provide strategic guidance impacts the bottom line. 🦒

Making $1 million a year for most accounting firms seems out of their reach, but in reality, you can get there. Here's how: To hit $1M annually, you need $83,000 in MRR. One way to get there is to have 55 bookkeeping clients at $1500 each per month. But if you can upsell these clients Controllership and FP&A analysis, you can charge $4K per client. Now, you only need 20 clients at $4K each per month. Use technology to automate the inputs on the accounting and bookkeeping sides as best you can. Then, add value on the FP&A side. It takes a lot of work and support to handle 55 clients with just bookkeeping services and no technology vs. 20 clients using a tool like Jirav and maybe a tiny team of 3 people. You can move faster and even exceed 7 figures if you make a consistent product of monthly deliverables of books set of financial forecasts on 3 different tiers of pricing. Make it happen. 🦒
