Recently, JGMA organized a site visit for our interns at our Humboldt Park Health Wellness Center project. This visit was a unique opportunity for them to witness firsthand how conceptual design evolves to physical construction. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the architectural process, illustrating how initial ideas are translated into built environments. We are really excited about the progress of the Wellness Center as it advances through its construction phase. Equally important, we are committed to fostering these hands-on learning experiences for our interns, which are crucial for their professional growth and future careers in architecture. #Architecture #Design #LatinxArchitect #Chicago

Today's JGMA project from the archive is Lakeside Driehaus Car Museum (2014)! The Lakeside Driehaus Car Museum was conceived as a museum showplace for a private collection of vintage automobiles. The building draws inspiration from the flowing fender lines, the aggressively curving scoop, the rocketing lines of tail fins, all brightworked and illuminated. A design as aggressive as the American muscle it displays. #Architecture #Design #LatinxArchitect #Chicago

Today's JGMA project from the archive is Lakeside Mariano's Fresh Market (2014)! JGMA led the development of a master plan for Lakeside Mariano's Fresh Market, aiming to create a distinctive retail attraction set to become Mariano’s flagship store. Located in a secluded and underdeveloped area near the southeastern edge of the city, close to Steelworkers Park, this project serves as a crucial community activation. The design envisioned vibrant street-front retail and overhead terraces poised to serve as spaces to foster community bonds and connections. Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from Northwestern University Center for Talent Development to our office! The tour, led by JGMA's Project Designers Monica Lim, Samra Pecanin, and Nathan Jordan gave the students a firsthand look at our culture, significant projects, and creative process. At JGMA, we deeply value nurturing the next generation of professionals. Seeing the passion and curiosity of these students as they engaged with our team and explored various career paths was truly inspiring and reaffirmed our commitment to mentorship and education. Thank you to Philip Ellefson and Aaliyah Torres from Northwestern University for introducing your students to our office. We also extend our gratitude to Danya Almoghrabi, instructor for the Teen Architecture Studio at Northwestern CTD and JGMA Project Designer, for making it possible. We look forward to fostering strong relationships with students in the future! #Architecture #Design #LatinxArchitect #Chicago
