[Grantee Partner Highlight]  Harbor House is a grantee that people mention being moved by time and time again. Their love and care for the families they serve is palpable and makes a deep impact on all who come through. Based in Oakland, CA, Harbor House provides a safe place for opportunities, resources, and relationships to be shared for families, children, and teens. Sometimes their support looks like welcoming dozens of elementary school students to play, offering an escape from the violence they witness in their neighborhoods. Other times, it is tutoring a 3rd grader who is behind in school, especially crucial in an area where over 70% of students are currently performing below grade level. Harbor House works closely with neighboring school Franklin Elementary and serves a diverse group of families that represent the fabric of the Oakland community. In this video, Franklin Elementary Principal Lai talks about Harbor House finding seed funding for a program to meet the needs of students at Franklin. The Jeremy Lin Foundation is proud to have provided the seed funding to make the Tutor the Tigers program a reality. Your support and donations allow these opportunities to happen. ❤️ Learn and share about the impactful work and incredible community at hhministries.org. JLIN LLC

[Grantee Partner Highlight] Jeremy Lin Foundation is excited to spotlight our partner Hope Horizon East Palo Alto! Jeremy and the team always love our visits! For 40 years, Hope Horizon East Palo Alto has been opening doors for youth east-of-Bayshore with a range of skills, including leadership, academic, and socio-emotional skills. Last year, they served 7,453 meals, and established over 30 partnerships to expand their efforts. The Churrobots, Hope Horizon’s robotics team, were part of the winning alliance at the Silicon Valley Regional FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) on March 3 and, despite many obstacles, managed to qualify for the championship World Cup in Houston. Congratulations on this incredible achievement! Also, we want to congratulate Hope Horizon’s new Executive Director, Josette (Josie) Langevine, most recently serving as Co-Executive Director alongside Tiffany Hong, and previously as Director of Operations for two years. We also wish Tiffany well, and extend gratitude for her exceptional leadership and commitment as Executive Director and Co-Executive Director over the past three years. GWA Event: Mental Health By 2030 Today's Capital Investments, Tomorrow's Scientific Breakthroughs and Tech Innovations   May 30, 10 pm HKT | 3 pm GMT | 10 am ET | 7 am PT In honor of #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth in May, Global Women Asia (GWA) is spotlighting this important issue. Globally, mental health disorders are on the rise. While awareness has increased in today's post-COVID era, it remains a stigma in many societies. No doubt, this is further compounded by social media and global current events. As we continue to focus on #WomenInSTEM in 2024, GWA invites you to learn more about the current state of mental health solutions and breakthroughs. We will hear from Marine Mallinson, a serial entrepreneur and investor behind the world's major mental health innovations across therapeutics, AI, digital health, and devices, and Patricia Sun, CEO of former NBA Champion Jeremy Lin’s company JLIN LLC and Board President of the Jeremy Lin Foundation, whose mission is to serve lower-income Asian American Pacific Islander and cross-racial youth through narrative change, community empowerment, and cross-racial solidarity. Mental health is a key focus of the Foundation. Register: https://lnkd.in/ee7TD2iM

[AAPI Heritage Month Mental Health Awareness Month] Mental health issues are on the rise within the AAPI community, especially among youth. 80% of AAPI youth feel like they don’t belong and 1 in 4 are bullied. Suicide is the leading cause of death for AAPI youth ages 15-24 years old. AAPI youth are also the least likely of any racial or ethnic group to receive mental health treatment. Many of our community partners are providing AAPI youth mental health support and advocacy. For example, CACF: Coalition for Asian American Children and Families has published policy recommendations around how to best support AAPI youth mental health, such as providing culturally competent mental health services, community support, youth leaders empowerment, and intergenerational programs to address their mental health experiences. Do you have ideas of other ways to support AAPI youth mental health? Sources: CDC, STOP AAPI HATE, Act to Change, STAATUS Study, Journal of Adolescent Health, CACF For resources, check out IG: @aapaonline @apiahf @naapimha @namicommunicate @asianmentalhealthcollective @southasiantherapists @asiansformentalhealth #AAPIMentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness JLIN LLC

[AAPI Heritage Month Mental Health  Month] 🌟 Partner Spotlight 🌟 At the Jeremy Lin Foundation, we’re grateful for all of our partners deeply embedded in the community, serving AAPI and other youth of color. Many of our partners provide mental health services to youth. This month, we’re shining a spotlight on Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) who serves over 8,000 youth each year. A key programmatic area for CYC is health and wellness, providing San Francisco youth and families access to mental health resources. CYC provides a broad array of culturally competent services for youth facing challenges related to mental health, drug prevention, healthy relationships, bullying, and violence prevention. The JLF team had a memorable visit to CYC and hanging with youth a few years ago,  and JLF was recently honored with CYC’s Community Partner Award. We’re excited to see them and our other partners make a difference in collective mental health. Video Credit: CYC JLIN LLC #CommunityPartners #MentalHealthAwareness #YouthEmpowerment
