On September 24, 2024, we hosted the 24th Annual Legislative BBQ. Together with our incredible nonprofit community partners, Seniors Resource Center, Developmental Disabilities Resource Center, Family Tree, and new this year, The Action Center, we host this special event. It is wonderful opportunity for our teams, the people served by our nonprofits, community members, and elected officials to network, share what is important to each other and of course, enjoy some delicious BBQ. More than 138 people attended, including 31 elected officials and candidates. A highlight of the evening was our panel discussion, where executives of the host nonprofits had the opportunity to share the impact of the work we do as nonprofits in our community, the importance of partnerships between our organizations, and highlighting the need for support to continue our missions to serve the people in our communities. Commissioner Tracy Kraft-Tharp, serving in her last term as a Jefferson County Commissioner, closed out the night with her thoughts on the impact of the Legislative BBQ throughout her career in public service. She told the crowd that she leaves the event with a full heart and true sense of community. We couldn’t agree more. #communitybuilding #legislativebbq2024 #jeffersoncenter

The City of Lakewood honored Jefferson Center with the Lakewood Mayor’s Inspiration Award on Monday night for our Solid Ground Apartments. The award recognizes people and organizations who make extraordinary contributions to the Lakewood community and we are thrilled to be honored in this way. Were proud to have Kiara Kuenzler, Taylor Clepper, and Angela Resman accepted the award on behalf of Jefferson Center. The incredible project would not have been possible without the support of the City of Lakewood and our 13 partners. Community partnerships help us provide the best care possible to those we serve, and Solid Ground Apartments demonstrates the incredible impact these partnerships can have. From start to finish, Solid Ground is a true testament to bringing together the strengths and resources to change the lives of individuals every day. Congratulations to Solid Ground and everyone involved in this incredible project! #mentalhealthmatters #communityadvocacy #jeffersoncenter
We were honored last night to receive the City of Lakewood’s Inspiration Award for our Solid Ground permanent supportive housing program. It is especially meaningful when we are able to share the stories of our residents who are now volunteering in the community and starting new jobs as a result of having a Solid Ground to launch from. Thank you Mayor Strom, City Council Members for this true honor. #jeffersoncenter #supportivehousing
