  • A FAVORITE PROJECT of OURS! AKRON EAST END.... the former Goodyear Hall designed by our friends' great grandfathers' firm Walker & Weeks Architects opened in 1911 the amazing detail in the original windows were tricky but replicated perfectly.... and look at the color! AMAZING THAT WE CAN REPLICATE any color you can imagine from a sample or pantone number! further amazing is the special color is often NO CHARGE to be crystal CLEAR... FREE! as in this project the overall volume enabled the color to be included without additional cost... FREE SPECIAL COLORS! how many #subcontractors will pass on savings like #free to the #contractor ???

  • WE JUST received another batch of beautiful images of our work at the Cleveland Coast Guard station, captured by the talented Dan Morgan DID ya know the original station was on that site from 1836 to 1936! in 1936 the city of cleveland water department took over the 100 year old buildings and used them as their water testing laboratory! those buildings were removed for a "new" station to be designed by J.Milton Dyer in 1940.... the building you see today and it's beautifully restored streamline Moderne style ... cleveland has many examples of Art Deco yet few of STREAMLINE MODERNE.. THE COAST GUARD STATION and the Greyhound bus station are the two best examples .... similar to Art Deco yet streamline was the design movement following Art Deco we are proud to have been selected to: engineer, procure and install all the historically accurate windows there! thank you Cleveland Metroparks and Sean McDermott for selecting jamieson Ricca! #cleveland #design #architecturaldesign #streamline moderne

  • AS BOATING SEASON HITS ITS PEAK soon it seems appropriate to remind everyone that our historic Coast Guard station has a fascinating history! there was a Coast guard station on that spot begining in 1876! and in continuous operation until 1976 Yup 100 years it was then used as the lboratories of the Cleveland water departmentuntil 1940 when the series of decaying wooden structures were removed to make room fo the building you see today designed by J. Milton Dyer in the Streamline Moderne design style! IMPRESS your friends as you cruise by that many believe this is an art Deco design but the design movement to follow Art Deco in the 1920s was, streamline moderne this building and the Greyhound bus station are Cleveland's best examples of the streamline moderne design movement Cleveland Metroparks acquired the land and buildings to include in their Wendy Park/ lakefront reservation as they wanted to preserve and restore the buildings to their original condition of 1940; they asked Jamieson Ricca Fenestration if the windows could be replicated? well of course they could and begining in 2016 jamieson ricca would engineer, procure and install allthe windows you see today and in JUNE of 2018 the interiors were completed for the non profit organization; the foundry to use for their youth sailing education programs A TRULY amazing story to tell your friends as you motor or sail by this summer oh yes ONE MORE triva item: it was for a very short time a nightclub long before Cleveland Metroparks came in to save it! but due to the peculiar way the sanitary sewer on that property was set up the system was doomed to fail with an occupancy like a night club.. it was awful, yes i did visit it once! #cleveland #historic #adaptivereuse
