About us
Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is the largest African American family organization in the nation with 262 chapters representing 70,000 family members. This membership organization of mothers with children ages 2-19 is dedicated to raising the next generation of African American leaders while enhancing the lives of all children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving, and civic duty. With a lasting legacy since 1938, Jack and Jill, Inc. has promoted the public awareness and interests of children including leadership development, child growth, child quality of life, child care and the promotion of children’s rights. Chapter programming is the "heart" of the organization so each chapter plans annual activities guided by National Program Thrusts: Cultural, Education, Civic/Legislative, Health, and Social/Recreational. The organization has significant impact across the country through strategic corporate sponsorships, charitable partners, lobbying, educational programming and advocacy, community initiatives and charitable events. Overall, Jack and Jill, Inc. is a voice for the Black Family, as we honor the theme, "The Power to Make a Difference for All children. On Mission. Purpose."

Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, the most prominent African American family organization, is pleased to announce 46th National Convention, July 23 through July 28, in Minneapolis, Minnesota." The theme is "Celebrating A Masterpiece of Life, Love, Leadership, & Legacy.” The much-anticipated week is comprised of multiple events including a pre-national convention memorial luncheon titled “Advocating For Justice, Inspiring Change: Remembering the Legacy of George Floyd” with keynote speaker Benjamin L. Crump, Esq. There will also be a community health fair open to the public on Tuesday, July 23, 12:30 PM/CDT to 3:00 PM/CDT at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Featured 46th National Convention entertainers include legendary drummer and percussionist Shelia E., pioneering music group Bell Biv DeVoe, and many more! Tyler Mitchell, a Jack and Jill of America Alumnus and 2022 National Conventional Alumni Honoree, has a new photography exhibition open at the High Museum of Art. He photographed Beyoncé for Vogue in 2018 (becoming the first Black photographer to shoot the magazine’s cover), worked with brands like Gucci and Marc Jacobs, and documented scenes of youth culture in Atlanta. In the exhibit, Mitchell created a photo-sculptural piece for the exhibition composed of images of twenty Atlanta-area families who are members of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. which he himself participated in while growing up.
