  • We recently visited one of our 2024-2025 College Prep Grantees, Washington Jesuit Academy. Washington Jesuit Academy is a private, tuition-free middle school for boys in Washington, D.C. It serves students from under-resourced communities and is guided by the Jesuit tradition of education, which emphasizes academic excellence, personal development, and service to others. Many of the teachers are also alumni of the school and give back to these students everyday. Our 2024-2024 Jack and Jill Foundation grant was used to fund a summer program that prepared 8th graders for college applications and the financial cost of paying for school. ✏️ “The journey of education is not solely about academic achievements but also about fostering a positive mindset, self-belief, and a lifelong love of learning.”

  • The Jack and Jill Foundation was a proud sponsor of the Spirit of the Heart Awards that took place on Saturday, September 14th at the Intercontinental Hotel. The Foundation sponsored the event to promote ABC’s programs that serve the African American Heart Study. This study provides insight into the risk of cardiovascular disease for African Americans, a population historically underrepresented in research. The event was chaired by past Foundation President Dr. Icilma Fergus-Rowe; the event was attended by Foundation Trustee Tasha Penny (Jack and Jill Inc. National Program Director).

  • Happy Labor Day from the Jack and Jill of America Foundation!!! Labor Day is celebrated to honor the contributions and achievements of workers and to recognize the labor movement's efforts to improve working conditions. It serves as a tribute to the social and economic advancements made by workers. 💼 👷🏾♀️ 🖥️ To commemorate Labor Day, Jack and Jill Foundation is spotlighting two of our 2024-2025 Our Village Grantees, Calumet Center of Metropolitan Family Services and Covenant House California, who provide workforce development services as part of their programming so that more African Americans and people of color have the skills that they need to enter the work force.
