Since then, she has helped empower hundreds of women in the outdoors, sharing with them the skills and confidence to tackle new adventures. Anne Shimerdla ('98) credits her time at Iowa State and an internship at the Blank Park Zoo for what unlocked her career goals. Now, life has come full cirlce, as Shimerdla leads the Blank Park Zoo as president and CEO.
