    We are pleased to share that the Hammer Museum has named Zoë Ryan as its next Director. She will succeed longtime director Ann Philbin, who is retiring in November after leading the museum for 25 years.   Ryan previously served as the Daniel W. Dietrich, II Director of the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing the ICA’s exhibition programs, art commissions and public engagement. Prior to the ICA, Ryan was the John H. Bryan Chair and Curator of Architecture and Design at the Art Institute of Chicago, where she managed a collection of more than 250,000 objects.     We are pleased to share that Juan de Pablo, PhD, has started his new role at New York University as the Executive Dean of the Tandon School of Engineering and the University’s inaugural Executive Vice President for Global Science and Tech. De Pablo, a distinguished materials scientist, is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Sciences, and the Mexican Academy of Sciences, and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Physical Society, and the Royal Society of Chemistry. He previously served as the Executive Vice President for Science, Innovation, National Laboratories, and Global Initiatives at the University of Chicago; the Liew Family Professor in Molecular Engineering at Chicago’s Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering; and a Senior Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory. De Pablo brings a nationally recognized record of leading far-reaching, strategic science initiatives and experience in working across disciplines, schools, and national laboratories to advance science in cross-cutting and innovative ways.     Last week IM Partner and UMass Alumna Rebecca Kennedy participated in the University of Massachusetts Amherst College of Humanities and Fine Arts Career Services and Alumni Networking event. The focus of the gathering, called “From Here to Career,” was about careers with a humanities or fine arts degree and thinking about post-graduate life. HFA students spoke with and asked a number of alum about how their undergraduate degrees prepared them for their current careers. The event also featured a "Meet the Dean" gathering and chance for a number of alum to network and discuss their ongoing commitment to UMass and its students.

    We are pleased to share that Janice Price has been named the new President & CEO of The Royal Ontario Museum Foundation (ROM Governors), the foundation responsible for philanthropic activities in support of the Museum’s mission. Price joins ROM Governors with over two decades of experience as a senior executive in leadership roles across the arts and cultural sector in Canada and the US. She most recently served as President and CEO of Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.
