“Shambrica Washington fraudulently obtained PPP and EIDL designated to provide Americans financial relief during the COVID-19 pandemic. Washington’s sentence demonstrates the federal government's commitment to holding individuals accountable who defrauded critical programs that served to provide aid for families and small businesses.” -- Tom Demeo, Acting Special Agent in Charge of our IRS Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI) Denver Field Office. #WhatWeDoCounts #IRSCI #IRS

🌍 Fostering our international partnerships is key to combating transnational financial crime. Our Deputy Chief Shea Jones attended the European Chief of Police Summit in The Hague this week where he met with leaders of law enforcement agencies from around the world. 💡 Discussions centered on how we can work together more closely, and learning about some of the more challenging threats facing different parts of the world. 🛡 We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our international partners for mutual protection of our taxpayers and our tax systems. #WhatWeDoCounts #IRSCI #Partnerships

An IRS Criminal Investigation Oakland Field Office case results in 72 months of prison for a Mexican national for his $25 million tax fraud scheme against the Internal Revenue Service. "Miguel Martinez’s involvement in this complex tax scheme ultimately earned him six years in prison. IRS-CI special agents worked extremely hard day in and day out to dismantle this group of bad actors who preyed on innocent, hardworking taxpayers, and the United States government,” said IRS Criminal Investigation Acting Special Agent in Charge Michael Mosley. #IRSCI #WhatWeDoCounts #FollowTheMoney #OAKFO
