To be a member of MDPTC, IoPP membership is required - join @ www.iopp.org – IoPP has some other great tools for its members: • MDPTC member site, PackChat, Mentor Match, job postings MDPTC Programs- Below is information on the MDPTC programs and group information (with lead contact information, should you want to get involved, please contact them directly!): 1. Medical Device Fundamentals Course- Amy Stewart Overview: An immersive hands-on classroom experience intended for inexperienced or new industry professionals, covering the basics of packaging regulations/standards, materials, equipment, sterilization, design, qualification and troubleshooting. This program is intended to be a collaboration of industry professionals, suppliers and equipment manufacturers. 2. Lifetime Honor Award - David DiVaccaro Overview: An annual award, to recognize industry leaders for their career commitment to medical device packaging. The team is responsible for creating the criteria, nomination, and evaluation processes 3. Student Scholarship - Seema Momin Overview: An annual award for an educational or training opportunity, to provide travel and attendance for a university student, enrolled in a packaging program. The team is responsible for editing the criteria, promoting the submission process, fundraising, and selecting a winning candidate. 4. Tech Talks – Seema Momin Overview– A 30-60 minute informal “coffee shop” open discussion, centered on a topic relevant to our industry. The team is responsible for hosting, soliciting hosts, and discussion topics. 5. University Outreach - Cory Layman Overview: A high-level one hour presentation for students at Universities enrolled in Packaging Programs, in a packaging introduction class, to spur interest in the Medical Device Packaging Field. The team is responsible for developing content and coordinating presenters to visit Universities. 6. Shadow Board - George During Overview: Young professionals learning to become leaders through shadowing the MDPTC board, helping MDPTC forge in new directions, and other activities geared to those who want to develop into industry leaders 7. Coaching Program - Chris Kelley, Sarah Windisch Overview: An opportunity for new entrants to industry to pair with more tenured industry professionals in a mentor/mentee relationship, includes learning opportunities only offered to the current session. Save Wednesday and Thursday, October 16-17, 2024, for this exciting content in conjunction with the standards developments meetings of the committees. The committee is seeking abstracts for 30-45 minute presentations on topics related to packaging.
