The Port of Baltimore is making significant strides toward reopening after the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. Here’s what we know: • A temporary navigational channel, measuring 280 feet wide and 35 feet deep, is anticipated to be operational by the end of April 20241. This initial channel will provide limited access. • The full reopening of the permanent channel, which spans a width of 700 feet and a depth of 50 feet, is expected by the end of May 20242. Once this channel is fully operational, port access will return to normal capacity. The collaborative efforts of engineers, government bodies, and local partners have been instrumental in achieving these milestones. As the Port of Baltimore prepares to resume its vital role, Interworld Freight will play a crucial part in supporting, rebuilding and strengthening the flow of cargo and trade (interwf.com).
