We are preparing to share the transformative outcomes and insights from this event. With the help of AI, machine learning, and dedicated scientific research, we are on the brink of understanding and decoding communication in other species. This incredible journey combines cutting-edge technology with hands-on studies to uncover the secrets of animal languages. Imagine the possibilities! 📆 In April, we hosted an Animals in Translation workshop with the Santa Fe Institute and XPRIZE Biodiversity Conservation. Experts in animal communication, AI, cognition, and more gathered to define what success looks like in decoding animal languages. 🌱The collaboration and conversations were awe-inspiring, pushing the boundaries of what we know about interspecies communication. 📢 On the 27th of July, Melanie Challenger will join the Interspecies Conversations with the lecture: "Co-creating Co-existence in a Multispecies World: How Do We Do It?" 🌱Today, human activities jeopardize the future of thousands of species, and millions of animals are caught up in human economic and food systems, often enduring life-limiting circumstances. These, in turn, impact the wider landscapes and ecologies that the Earth’s species share, undermining our planet’s life. The exploitation of other life-forms and the shared resources of the planet is increasing and general trends around biodiversity remain bleak. Together with Melanie, we will explore a new international project at NYU that investigates how we communicate with other species, represent their interests, and include them in decision-making to create a fairer, more compassionate world.
