With Scurry County and all of Texas bracing for another scorching summer, keeping cool has never been more important. To combat the heatwave, Intersect Power partnered with the Snyder Community Resource Center to organize the second Stay Cool, Scurry County event, located just down the road from our Lumina Solar Facility. On Wednesday, June 5th, a team of Intersect Power volunteers distributed 66 air conditioning units, supporting 127 Scurry County residents. “Snyder Community Resource Center strives to help individuals and families take a step forward. Stay Cool, Scurry County makes sure people in our community have relief from the heat,” said Jessica Robbins, Executive Director of the Snyder Community Resource Center. “With partners like Intersect Power, it’s more than just handing out AC units; we are giving families relief and support when they need it most.” A special thanks to our volunteers Shayelyn Marshall, Brandon Kideckel, and Amanda Lee.

⭐✨Our Intersect Power team volunteered with the Desert Center Unified School District at Eagle Mountain School in Desert Center, CA. The event began with a campus cleanup and a donation to support the school to cover the cost of a new school bus for the district, after school and summertime recreational programming, and campus improvements. 🌱🚌 💚 Our team had the opportunity to connect with the students, sharing insights about utility-scale solar PV plants and giving them a guided tour of our nearby Oberon Solar Storage Facility. Dr. Gregory Sackos, Superintendent of the Desert Center Unified District shared - "Their commitment to both environmental stewardship and educational enrichment is truly commendable, and we look forward to the positive impact these funds and initiatives will have on our students and campus. We look forward to having a positive, long-term partnership with Intersect Power.” We are honored to be able to support education initiatives while empowering these students with firsthand knowledge of the renewable energy resources being produced in their communities. This summer, Scurry County, along with the rest of Texas, is facing another season of extremely hot temperatures. This is why we’re excited to share news of our upcoming event in Scurry County, where our Lumina Solar Facility is located – the #StayCoolScurryCounty initiative! In collaboration with the Synder Community Resource Center, we’re providing local residents with AC units to help combat the heat wave. If you reside in the Scurry County area and could use assistance staying cool, we invite you to join us at the Snyder Community Resource Center on Wednesday, June 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We’re here to help you stay cool and comfortable this summer.
