About us
The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is an international nonprofit that helps build the expertise and storytelling skills of reporters worldwide. Our mission is simple: to empower journalists to deliver trustworthy news essential for vibrant societies. To date, we’ve worked with more than 100,000 journalists from 180 countries… and in doing so, we are increasing the flow of reliable, trustworthy news - a cornerstone of healthy democracies. Through hard-hitting coverage, our program participants have toppled corrupt governments, promoted better laws and made communities safer and healthier. Ultimately, we believe that better journalism leads to better lives.

Venezuela’s presidential elections are July 28, and El Pitazo, a longtime ICFJ partner, is working to deliver independent coverage. This is challenging and risky in a country ranked as one of the worst in the world for #pressfreedom. The news outlet has correspondents and experts in electoral coverage reporting from all states and 10 cities in the diaspora. To amplify the reach of this reporting, they’re providing a live, 36-hour video stream to national and international outlets. More than 73 media partners in 10 countries will take part in this ambitious project to get out accurate, independent news of the elections in Venezuela. Subscribe to El Pitazo’s YouTube channel and activate the notification bell so you don’t miss out on the coverage: https://lnkd.in/eXAtJeyE
