Illinois #EMs The International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) is seeking your input as emergency managers. Illinois is only at 13% response rate. Attached is a presentation regarding this survey. Bottom Line Up Front: IAEM, in partnership with FEMA and Argonne National Laboratory, has deployed the Local Emergency Management Capacity Survey to 5,600 local emergency managers nationwide. We need your help to ensure widespread participation! Please share this with your regional members. What is the Survey? This survey aims to gather insights on local emergency management structures, staffing, and capacities across the United States. Designed by emergency managers for emergency managers, it is our chance to quantify our needs and challenges, building data to advocate for the future of local emergency management. This data will inform future FEMA programs and priorities, helping to strengthen our community and improve public safety nationwide. Who Can Take the Survey? The survey is for all local emergency managers serving as the chief emergency management official for their jurisdiction, whether you are a fire chief doubling as EM, a part-time or volunteer emergency manager, or the Director of Emergency Management for your county. It covers local jurisdictions, with different surveys targeting state and tribal emergency managers. If you have emergency management duties—whether full-time, part-time, or as a volunteer—we need your input! How to Complete the Survey: Emails with personalized links to the survey were sent to 5,600 local emergency managers. If you haven’t seen it, search your inbox for an email titled “Invitation to Complete Local Emergency Management Capacity Survey” from [email protected]. Can’t find it? Email [email protected] Why Participate? This is our chance to directly shape the conversation on the state of local emergency management. Your participation will provide critical data for FEMA, IAEM, NEMA, and Argonne to develop programs and policies that support local EM efforts. To ensure we have a full and accurate picture, we need to hear from everyone—every county, city, town, and township. Together, we can use this data to advocate for the resources and recognition our field deserves. Thank you in advance for your participation and support in promoting the survey across your regions. Your voice is essential in helping us improve the future of emergency management.
