Hope is Always Within Reach 💚 If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide, remember that hope is always within reach. One of the most important steps you can take is to talk openly and compassionately with those who may be hurting. Start by asking questions like, “Are you okay?” or “I’ve noticed you haven’t seemed yourself lately. Do you want to talk about it?” It’s also essential to recognize warning signs that might indicate someone is in distress. These can include withdrawing from loved ones, noticeable changes in mood, expressing feelings of hopelessness, or talking about being a burden. If you suspect someone may be having suicidal thoughts, don’t be afraid to ask directly, “Are you thinking about hurting yourself?” Open, nonjudgmental conversations can make a world of difference. Let them know they’re not alone, and that you’re there to support them. If you or someone you know needs immediate help, call or text 988 to speak with a mental health professional 24/7. For ongoing support, call Intermountain at 406-442-7920 or visit https://lnkd.in/gGBfkq4W to be connected to local resources. #YouAreNotAlone #HopeIsHere #SuicidePrevention

#ThrowbackThursday In 1971, a significant chapter in our history began as Intermountain moved to its current location on 500 S. Lamborn Street in Helena, Montana. Renamed Intermountain Children’s Home, the new campus allowed children and adolescents to live in cottages with house parents, creating a family-like environment. During this time, Administrator Bob Wix (1963-1981) reflected on the challenges our children faced: “Our kids come with such handicaps that limit how they will function in our Home. An emotional problem may keep a youngster’s stomach tied in knots for months.” His words remind us of the deep compassion and understanding that has always been at the heart of our mission. #IntermountainHistory #LegacyOfCare #FamilyLikeSetting

We’re excited to share some photos of our amazing team from the NAMIWalks event! At Intermountain, we believe in showing up for our community, and participating in NAMIWalks is one way we stand together to raise awareness for mental health. It’s not just about the walk—it’s about the people, the stories, and the hope we build as a community. We’re proud of our team for joining the movement and for the work we do every day to support mental health in our community. Together, we walk forward—side by side, step by step—for a brighter future. #NAMIWalks #MentalHealthMatters #CommunitySupport #IntermountainCares

What is NAMIWalks? Better to ask, Who is NAMIWalks? NAMIWalks is about people—compassionate individuals coming together, one authentic story at a time, to build a community of hope. It’s the walk that has no finish line, only countless new beginnings for those we serve, as we raise funds to power NAMI’s life-changing free programs and spread awareness of mental health. At Intermountain, we're passionate about community engagement and collaborating with other organizations to ensure the best care for those struggling with mental health in our community. NAMIWalks is a celebration—a powerful moment to declare, “I will not step down, I will not step away. I will stand with my community.” No matter where we've been on our journey, we know where we're going, together. We are NAMIWalks. And we at Intermountain are proud to be a part of it.
