Intergreen Erasmus

💡 The Intergreen partners are deeply involved in local piloting activities in the partners countries. Our partners from The Republic of North Macedonia, ECO – LOGIC, have just completed a 3 days event with 15 municipal workers, including a Mayor. 🤝 Working directly with municipal workers from urban and rural areas, in their respective regions, the Intergreen partners will test run the developed training course and physical board game, titled "Green Up". 💻 Following the local piloting, a series of international online meetings will take place in October and November, with all participants from the local piloting workshops. 🔗 To access the training course in EN, visit our elearning platform https://lnkd.in/dYADMS_B. 🚵♀️EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK is the European Commission’s flagship awareness-raising campaign on sustainable urban mobility. 🏞In 2024, EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK is all about ‘Shared public space’. Shared public space brings many benefits to society. There is greater social fairness, increased road safety, reduced noise and air pollution, and an overall higher quality of life in an area where people, transportation, and activities all have their own space. 🤲Municipalities have a key role to play towards sustainable urban mobility. Green and sustainable practices should start from the grassroots. Our Intergreen project is actively working for resources to empower municipality workers and municipalities for greener, sustainable urban public spaces. 🌍 EU shares a strong commitment in regards to sustainability and the environment, through several initiatives, the Green Deal, and resources openly accessible to the public. 🌲 🏙 The Urban Nature Platform helps cities and towns reintroduce biodiversity and the natural world. Together with linkages to other pertinent projects and policies of the European Commission, the goal of this platform is to support towns and cities in preserving and enhancing their urban ecology and biodiversity. 🚵♂️ As part of the Biodiversity Strategy - in order to bring nature back to cities and reward community action - the Commission called on European towns and cities of at least 20,000 inhabitants to “..develop ambitious Urban Greening Plans” (now called Urban Nature Plans) including “measures to create biodiverse and accessible urban forests, parks and gardens; urban farms; green roofs and walls; treelined streets; urban meadows; and urban hedges.” ✍ A draft Urban Nature Plan Guidance is available, whereas draft Urban Nature Plan Toolkit will be available shortly in the dedicated platform. 💡 The Urban Nature Plan is not a stand alone document, it is a long term framework and strategy to ensure that towns and cities grow greener in the future. Keeping on with our tradition of monthly meetings! 📆 On Tuesday 25th, the INTERGREEN project’s team met yet again to discuss the project’s latest advancements and next moves. The monthly meeting was very important as it was the first one following the online session test, which took place a few weeks ago.
