Intech Mechanical, LLC is extremely proud to have been a part of this project. Great job to all those involved!
Last week, over 400 project team members gathered at the rooftop park of the California Department of General Services Resources Building Renovation project office to commemorate a significant achievement—the completion of the building’s façade. The AC Martin and Turner Construction Company Design-Build team recognizes the importance of celebrating milestones like this one, and I was personally excited to see our entire team commemorating this achievement with snow cones, barbecue, challenge coins, and a lot of pride. As the last window panel of 2,449 units was put in place, it transformed from mere glass into a reflection of the collective collaboration from all involved. Take a look at the video below for a visual recap of the event and look at the beautifully transformed façade. Read More about the Façade Completion Ceremony at the link in the comments!

Senior Project Manager, PRIDE ERG National Co-lead and Economic Inclusion Champion at Gilbane Building Company
We’ve all heard the saying “We Are Stronger Together” and it was reinforced for me this June as the DGS Resources Building Renovation project came together to celebrate PRIDE month. It started at the June 3rd Monday morning all-project huddle with Amanda Laufer delivering an excellent toolbox talk with the assistance of Turner’s PRIDE network on the importance of allyship to over 300 workers. Michelle Stoffel of IBEW Local 340 invited fellow electricians on the project to join their contingent in the Sacramento Pride March and Michelle Riley invited the entire jobsite to join the Turner, Gilbane, HGA contingent in the March. Pride and Ally hardhat stickers were distributed to all who wanted them. On Wednesday the 5th, the team enjoyed ice cream treats while watching a video panel presentation on Introduction to Allyship from Gilbane’s PRIDE ERG Allyship committee. That was followed by a fun and competitive game of PRIDE themed trivia where those who studied ahead of time were rewarded with the top three prizes ( Mike Sandlin, Karina Castaneda, Alaina Mehilis). The highlight of the week was marching in the Sacramento Pride March on Sunday with various Gilbane Building Company, Turner Construction Company, HGA, Intech Mechanical, LLC and California Department of General Services team members, with their families and friends turning out in force to celebrate. By combining our resources, we expanded our outreach impact in a way I have never seen on a project site. Thanks to Sharlett Maderazo, Michelle Riley, Michelle Stoffel, Amanda Laufer and Alaina Mehilis for all the pre-planning. Thanks to our marchers Scott Carrico, PSP, Rudaina Hussain, Anneliese Paik, Kaitlyn Dobberfuhl, Assoc. DBIA, Christopher Infantino, Karen Lindfors, Clint Welch, Sumitha Nagarikanti, Javier Laufer, Pansy Romo, LEED AP, Cheryl Gleason, Nick Rossi

A huge congratulations to Jacob Hanson on successfully passing the PE (Professional Engineer License) exam. The PE exam is a state credential where licensed engineers qualify to submit engineering plans to public authorities and apply for certain government contracts. Jacob started his career with Intech in 2022 as an intern while attending Chico State University. After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Jacob joined our team full time as a Mechanical Engineer I. He helps develop design build projects from early preconstruction pricing to development of permit drawings, and final project commissioning, confirming compliance to the developed basis of design. When recently asked: “Why did you choose engineering as a career path, and did anyone in particular influence you?” Jacob’s response was: “As for why I chose to become an engineer, math and science were always my favorite subjects growing up. I would often take things apart to find out how they worked and to see if I could put it back together. I loved building and creating things in my free time. I wanted to go into a career that has a lot of problem-solving opportunities that would require unique and creative solutions. All this is what led me to pursue an engineering career.” Great job Jacob and congratulations!
