Our final InstallerMERIT was awarded to Warriors of Warmth for uniting installers around the UK to carry out charity work and change lives The group is a UK-wide network of engineers who travel the country carrying out work free of charge to those who need it most. While doing so, they also give real-life work experience and expert advice to plumbing and heating students and trainees. In homeless shelters, food banks, town halls and more, the amazing work that they have carried out has changed the lives of some of those of us who need it most. Warriors of Warmth is a fantastic example of the charitable spirit of installers who volunteer their time to improve their local communities. Watch more on our YouTube ⬇️ https://hubs.la/Q02J312l0

Poor mental health is a big problem in the construction industry, with more than 8 in 10 tradespeople who work alone experiencing mental ill health, mainly depression and anxiety. The hot water tap advice hub in partnership with Abode When elements of Part G of the Building Regulations were updated in May of this year, interestingly there were no changes to Part G3(3) despite known lobbying in the industry for this to happen. Part G3(3) sets out that any hot water storage vessel must not exceed 100˚C and include two safety systems (only if the system is pressurised). In their latest article, Abode shares their advice and how their products meet these regulations ⬇️ https://hubs.la/Q02HYmln0

InstallerMERIT 2024 Winner, Arron Blythe – For pushing the limits to raise money for fantastic causes Our first InstallerMERIT recipient of 2024 set himself an almighty challenge to raise money for fantastic causes. Over a 12-month period, he ran the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats. That’s 837 miles, which means he had to run 100km (over 62 miles) every month, in rain or shine, to support two charities close to his heart. Arron raised over £3,000 for Demelza Charity, and the Fightin’Fit community boxing gym where he volunteers Watch the full video on youtube ⬇️ https://hubs.la/Q02HMGjf0

Every year, InstallerMERIT celebrates outstanding achievements by individuals or groups working within the UK plumbing, heating and electrical industries. These are people related to the trade, who volunteer their time and effort to benefit good causes, with little or no recognition or personal gain. Thanks to this year's sponsors NIBE Group, Wavin UK, an Orbia business, Powered Now and Lecico Bathrooms, plus football sponsors Hisense Group and Bublshop We will be spotlighting each winner across our socials this week. What a fabulous round-up of InstallerSHOW from the team at Lawton Tubes! Their stand was 🔥🔥🔥 Thanks for the mention. We can't wait to see what you have in store for 2025...
Read our latest article to discover the highlights from another incredible year at the InstallerSHOW! Our stand was buzzing with activity and welcomed numerous industry professionals, including TV presenter Rachel Riley, who eagerly learned the art of traditional pipe bending. This hands-on experience showcased the skills involved and highlighted #plumbing as a promising career path for apprentices who visited our stand on Day 3. We were honoured to host students from various colleges, including Birmingham Metropolitan College, Stourbridge Campus looking to introduce new opportunities and career paths for their students. Many students participated in our pipe bending challenge, using these tools and techniques for the first time. Violet Williams, Work Experience Manager, BMet College shared her thoughts: "We brought a number of students down here to the Lawton Tubes stand from our engineering, plumbing, electrical, multi-skills level 1 and 2 courses, to talk to potential employers about apprenticeships, discover the latest technology, and explore new innovations. A lot of our plumbers were so excited to try the pipe bending challenge as they have never done anything like it before and it was great to see them get stuck in." This event not only showcased top plumbing talent but also emphasized our commitment to nurturing the next generation of skilled professionals. 👉 Read more: bit.ly/InstallerShow2024 #InstallerShow2024 #PlumbingExcellence #Sustainability #LawtonTubes #CareerOpportunities #Apprenticeships #FutureOfPlumbing #ProperInCopper #Construction #Hvac #Heating #Gas #NoMessWithPress #Copper #PressFittings #Sustainability #Engineer #LPBAwards
