In 2023, inDrive’s oldest non-profit project moved its focus from IT to social leadership. As Beginit, the project promotes social leadership and project skills among young people. Heading up the new project is Elena Tropinova, a former associate professor with a PhD in economics. Prior to joining inDrive, Rafael has held prominent roles, including Director of Operations at Kovi Tecnología in São Paulo and Regional Director of Operations at Rappi Technologies in Monterrey. In addition to his commercial experience, he leads the civil association Operación Finalmente en Casa AC, supporting Mexican soldiers in their transition to civilian life. In a heartwarming and impactful collaboration, our recent project with Waste4Change brought staff, passengers, and drivers together for a river cleanup at the Pekayon River  in the outskirts of Jakarta. As part of our Ride to Donate campaign, every ride in June contributed to environmental recovery. Engaging local communities, we aimed to show how collective efforts can tackle environmental issues and promote sustainable practices. After a few hours, our dedicated team collected 60kg of waste, which will be sorted and recycled with Waste4Change. The enthusiastic involvement of the local community highlighted the power of collective responsibility in maintaining a clean environment. This project aligns with our mission as a community-oriented company, dedicated to making a positive impact on local communities. During our 6th anniversary in Colombia, we were excited to unveil our safety report with updates making a real difference. Our safety report revealed that we denied entry to 22% of driver applicants for failing to meet our standards, ensuring safer rides. Since 2023, over 370,000 users have shared their live location with trusted contacts during rides, enhancing their security. We also introduced 10 new in-app safety features, leading to a 19% decrease in harassment, conflicts, and thefts. Our drivers boast an impressive 4.9 average rating with 98.6% positive trip comments. On June 25-26, Dar es Salaam buzzed with excitement as the Beginit Young Leaders Fest, organized by inDrive, brought together schoolchildren for an inspiring event. This festival marked the grand finale of the Beginit project, which taught students from three Tanzanian schools crucial social leadership skills over the past academic year. The teenagers learned research, public speaking, teamwork, and more. At the event, they connected with each other, learned about inDrive, and engaged with inspiring speakers and Tanzanian leaders. The festival featured a local teachers' meetup, leadership workshops, a speech by social entrepreneur Maliki Bester from Dar es Salaam, and a vibrant cultural program including a museum visit and traditional dances. Our mission is to nurture a generation of social leaders and spotlight this vital topic.
