The Indianapolis Fire Department is beyond excited to have taken delivery of 12 Pierce Manufacturing Enforcer Pumpers. #IFD has 103 pieces of front line apparatus responding every day in the IFD service district. These 12 engines will replace the current ones at IFD stations 2, 6, 9, 10, 12, 15, 18, 19, 25, 43, 44 and 46 as part of the front line contingent. The pumpers color scheme, dark gray over red, is new to the IFD and is an exciting change from the longtime colors of white over red for Indy's Bravest. MacQueen Other notes of interest specific to the IFD spec'd Pierce Enforcer Pumpers are: TAK-4 Independent Suspension which allows for a smoother more steady ride Galvanized Frame Rails which offers better protection from Indiana Weather and winter salt Flat Roof Engine Cab which allows for better 360 visibility for safety of the crews Redesigned hose beds and rear of the apparatus for safer entry and access. Three components of the redesign are lower hose beds, 8 inch steps and removal of the cross bar. IFD also added lighting on the inside of the hose bed for better visibility at night and safety of the crews. IFD Standardized the interior of the Engine and Ladder Cabs for training and maintenance purposes. IFD will take 7 new Ladders later this year. Switch to Paccar Engines IFD went old school and installed Manual Relief Valves and Two-Stage Pumps in these engines. 2024 Frontline Apparatus Includes: 43 Engines 22 Ladders 5 Squads 12 Tactical Units 4 Tankers 7 Battalion Chief’s vehicles 4 Air Supply Tactical Support Units 3 Safety Officer vehicles 2 EMS Duty Officer vehicles 1 Shift Commander vehicle In 2023 IFD had 170,000 responses. HUGE thank you to the amazing team Lucas Oil Stadium for allowing IFD to use their lot for the photo shoot. We appreciate your partnership.
