Of course I'm stoked to see some big names on the speaker list (hey Ryan Reynolds), but there's also so many industry thought leaders that I've been following for years that I know are at the top of my list to hear from! AJ Wilcox - The host of the LinkedIn Ads show, but also a mentor who's super active on LinkedIn. I was first introduced to him when I took a LinkedIn training course from CXL that he hosted, and I've recommended it to so many people since. Alex Lieberman - The co-founder of Morning Brew, one of my favorite newsletters (including the Marketing Brew). I've annoyed all of my coworkers into signing up for the newsletter over the years because it's such a fun way to get your information each morning. At one point many moons ago I even interviewed with him! Daniel Murray - Founder of The Marketing Millennials, another great newsletter, podcast, and thought leader on LinkedIn who loves to post fun industry-specific memes that always get a chuckle from our team. Neil Patel - Co-founder of Crazy Egg among many other ventures, but a huge thought leader in the industry, covering all types of marketing topics. Shout out to HubSpot for a killer line up!     Last year, #INBOUND23 was my first time going to INBOUND in person. I wasn't planning on attending until about this time last year when I was abruptly let go from my last "in-house" marketing position. I share this story because I believe it is a perfect example of what makes this ecosystem great. ---- July 14th, Friday - Let go on a video call at 11a CT. July 18th, Monday morning - Chat with George B. Thomas (one of the HubSpot partners I had been working with) wondering, in jest, if he knew of any "Just got let go" discounts available for INBOUND. Without hesitation, he referred me to Christina Garnett, EMBA. July 18th, 9:42a - I message Christina on LinkedIn. 9:43a—One minute later, she responds, telling me that I could have a free ticket if I agreed to share the experience as an INBOUND correspondent. 9:44a - I say, "Thank you...I would love the opportunity." 9:53a - I get the code from Christina. 11:22a - Order confirmation for INBOUND. ---- When I talk about providing great customer experiences, being easy to do business with your company, and making it easy for your customers to be successful with your company...THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. When you hear people talk about how the HubSpot ecosystem is different and that it feels weird (but amazing) that everyone is so helpful...THIS IS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. The value-first culture of this ecosystem is the foundation that allowed for this experience. ---- "BFD Chris, you scored a free ticket to INBOUND. Cool story, bro." Leading up to #INBOUND2024, I'll be sharing the impact getting to go to my first INBOUND had on my life in a time of great uncertainty and self-doubt after being tossed to the side for the second time in 12 months. Yes. This is where I name-drop the sh*t out of this post to highlight those that have had a recurring impact on me ever since. The number 1 reason to go: IN PERSON ENGAGEMENT!...WITH HUMANS!! Here are the BFD, LFG highlights: - "I --belong-- here!" - Meeting 🧡 Selim Maalouf in person for the 3rd time as we figure out what joining the ecosystem means for us. - Meeting George and the FEAM for the first time in person. - Reconnecting with Logan Lyles (first time in person) - Doing my first "Live on site" videos ever. - Impactful sessions from rockstars like Connor Jeffers, Dax Miller, Tyron Foston, 🤓 Mandy Thompson 🏳️🌈, David Meerman Scott, Marcus Sheridan, Kyle Jepson, and more. - A sick Partner Day MC'd by 👋🏿Devyn Bellamy - The "commotion" caused by Matt Bolian and the Supered⚡team - A lovely Brain Date with Marc D. Hans - Hangouts with Max Cohen 🧔🏻, Charles Elmer, Allen Fennewald, Adam Stahl, Stephanie Baiocchi, Melinda Green, and others. - The daily habit that I actually implemented post-event: cold showers (h/t Brian Halligan) Let's Grow!
