MIT’s Daron Acemoglu says AI being overhyped. Is he right???🤔 The answer is Yes. Why do I say that? Because almost everyone preaching AI stands to make a S#@% ton of money from it. It will alter how we work and amplify our talents; but it won’t replace us. Or 80% of us or whatever the scary headlines repeat. Truthfully, if AI were what they say it is, it would already be taking over OnlyFans. Sex robots would be a thing. That's how you would know. Sorry to be so blunt, but that’s how revolutionary new technology works. That’s not happening, and not on the horizon. So it will be something, but less than what we are hearing. I think Daron Acemoglu is probably off to the underside and the evangelists at NVIDIA, OpenAI, etc are off on the high side. Will link the article in the comments. What do you think? Is AI being overhyped? What do you think the results will be?

Just when you thought you were safe after getting your parrot fitted with ear plugs…. This is wild. A researcher got an email recap after his meeting with two venture capital investors from their "AI Meeting Assistant." The email contained a transcript of the meeting...INCLUDING the part of the meeting AFTER the researcher logged off! Of course the venture capital investors discussed their failures and "cooked metrics." So just know this situation is becoming more common; the effects will been seen in across the board. Salesforce has Agentforce, Microsoft Copilot, Slack...you name it, it's coming. Companies will need to mute the office "funny guy" who loves to do his act after the zoom wraps up. No earplugs for these parrots. Stay safe out there! (Article link in comments).
