Last month, iHub Innovation Hub of Utah was featured in the Utah Valley BusinessQ magazine - introducing the mission of iHub and highlighting our commitment to empowering young entrepreneurs. "iHub Utah is the kickstart and support system that every hopeful entrepreneur dreams of... What is iHub? It is a non-profit organization that aids in getting businesses off the ground. Early-stage founders are asking, 'how do I get started? What are my first moves? How do I set up a corporation?' We dramatically increase their chances of success by giving them experts to engage with through the journey of being an entrepreneur. Other companies require qualifications before they'll let you in the door, but these early-stage startups are at the level that can get ignored because they are in such a risky stage of their business. How do they get to the next stage without any help? -- That's what we do! 𝐖𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞."

Connecting people to the world around them

tl:dr Go volunteer as a mentor at iHub Innovation Hub of Utah and help some entrepreneurs. You'll be glad you did. Today I had a fun opportunity to volunteer as a mentor down at iHub Innovation Hub of Utah in Provo. When you sign up for this, they coordinate with you to set apart some time, and entrepreneurs who are just getting started sign up for time-slots to pick your brain. It was an AWESOME experience. I sat in on a brief huddle where several companies talk about their challenges and ask for advice and networking and then met with three individuals who are doing amazing things that can save lives and have other really positive impacts on the world around us. One small challenge... I am a software/SaaS guy, and a customer guy. I have almost no experience in things like supply chain, manufacturing, fund raising and other things that are so critical to helping these products/dreams reach the open market. If I have any connections, with expertise in any area, but especially those areas, I would encourage you to connect with iHub and offer a little of your time. I am grateful that I could share things, that I hope will help, and give back considering I did not deserve the career I have had, and have been greatly blessed by being around people with more experience, and expertise than I have.

They partner with friends, roommates, family members, etc. this can lead to problems down the line. Partner with someone who 𝗔𝗗𝗗𝗦 talent or 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗘 in which you lack, (think technical know-how, capital, marketing/sales skills, etc.) Then, after choosing the wrong partner, many people make the mistake of giving up too much equity. 𝟱𝟬/𝟱𝟬 𝗶𝘀 𝗥𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗬 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲. As the inventor/person with the idea, you start at 100% and go from there giving small pieces - think single digits - to strategic partners but only based on performance. 📈 I shared this with our young entrepreneurs during our in depth Equity Workshop at iHub Innovation Hub of Utah . If you have other questions about this, please come to iHub. We have so many resources/mentors that can point you in the right direction.

We are thrilled to announce our newest Bee Partner, iHub Innovation Hub of Utah. iHub is an entrepreneurial startup incubator located in Provo, Utah, and they are already making a huge impact on the growth of new businesses. They are on track to become one of the best business incubators in the country, and we are so excited to work with them! iHub now owns a local beehive that will directly contribute to pollination and biodiversity in their community, and we will work with them on our projects to improve native bee habitats and increase the amount of pollinating plants in Utah's urban areas. Along with this, their beehive will produce delicious raw honey! 🐝 iHub is making waves, and we are excited to share more about them and what they do as a Bee Partner. We are grateful to work with Corbin Church and Kara Church, and their amazing team: Andrew Soulier, Via Massey, and Jaicee Wilde.
