This week we’re recognizing #IEEE Member Subodha Charles, affiliated with IEEE Student Activities Committee and IEEE Young Professionals. Subodha has been an IEEE member since 2011, joining as a student within the Sri Lanka section. Since then, he has grown to become a leader who helped uplift his section and others, fostering industry collaboration and member growth, particularly for students and young professionals. Subodha’s background in electronics and telecommunication engineering, along with his passion for entrepreneurship, led him to co-found a startup in his native Sri Lanka that is now an industry leader in the energy sector. Upon completing his Ph.D. in the United States, Subodha returned to Sri Lanka to focus on business growth and continued research in his areas of interest.

How do you design AI systems with sustainability in mind? Join our upcoming IEEE Technology Center for Climate (ITCC) webinar, featuring a panel of experts including IEEE Young Professionals Polat Goktas and Yuhan Zheng, as they explore the topic: "Factoring Sustainability in Building AI Systems." While ethical considerations throughout the lifecycle of AI systems have been at the heart of responsible AI and AI-related regulatory frameworks, the aspect of sustainability is a more recent addition. In this session, we’ll dive into the growing need to incorporate environmental considerations right from the design phase of AI systems. Register now for the 26 September webinar! https://bit.ly/3zwqXpU #IEEE #SustainableAI #CleanTechSolutions #AI
