A Message from Our Co-Founder Laura Garfield: I’ve only told this story in public once. It was on a stage in Chicago at a top-performing advisors’ conference. The event in this story had happened one week earlier. And it was so shocking that I had trouble walking out the door with my suitcase for that trip to Chicago. I was such a mess … I almost didn’t get on the plane ✈️ to fly to that conference in the first place. This was exactly two years ago. It took me two years to gather the courage. Why I am telling you this? Because this story is sooooo personal. It impacted me. It impacted my whole family. And when I went to record this video🎥, I actually started crying. Two years after it happened. Shesh. My Co-founder and friend Sharon Gottula was standing near the camera. I told her she had to walk away or I was never going to get through this story.
