It was an honor to spend a part of the week with our IAVM Region 7 friends and family in Phoenix. Well done, Region 7 Leadership!
As the saying goes, "Teamwork Makes The Dreamwork," which is precisely what happened at the IAVM Region 7 Conference this week in Phoenix! Thank you to Region 7 and everyone who "Spilled the Tea" with us as we discussed teamwork in the workplace. According to our poll during the session, 88% of attendees shared they have seen a project suffer in some form because team members prioritized their own needs over the teams. Does that ring a bell? Here are five tips to help improve teamwork and group collaboration: 💡Define objectives and roles that align everyone toward a common goal. 💡Cultivate an environment of transparent communication, where feedback is encouraged and misunderstandings are minimized. 💡Foster a collaborative culture where team members support each other, share knowledge, and work together. 💡Implement effective conflict resolution strategies and encourage respectful dialogue to address conflicts constructively and prevent them from overshadowing the team's objectives. 💡Recognize and celebrate team achievements to reinforce the importance of collective success. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University) In the wake of the pandemic era, the U.S. economy recovered dramatically in most regions, but the accompanying inflation took its toll on consumer confidence and costs of doing business. Although anti-inflation policy measures instituted by the Fed in March of 2022 resulted in sharply higher interest rates, labor markets remain historically strong, and a national recession seems less likely. What is the outlook for 2024 and into 2025 for key economic indicators critical to today’s venue managers? Moving beyond hype, social media, and spurious opinions, explore and analyze hard data on current and future trends in population, demographics, GDP, CPI, consumer expenditures, and labor market indicators such as wages, labor force participation, and unemployment rates nationally and in the western states, as interpreted by prominent Arizona economists.
