Congratulations to our May SSE Award winner Cody Swann on Latshaw Drilling Rig 9! The weather was great and we enjoyed getting to come to the rig and meeting the young man. When Joey Stockton was asked why Cody was chosen, he said “Cody comes to work every day with a great attitude, easy to communicate with and a likeable person. He takes any job task assigned to him seriously and doesn't mind approaching the situation with confidence to achieve completion. He's not shy about asking questions either if he doesn't fully understand a job task, safety protocol, or operation. When he is asking questions and being given information he gives full attention and retains information. In my opinion he will eventually move up in the industry to become a leader and continue training the newcomers to the industry, or newcomers to Latshaw to make them become part of the team as he has in such a short period of time. Our April winning rig for the IADC SSE employee of the month was John Black from Akita Drilling Rig 524 drilling for Oxy!! John is from Denton, TX and just finished up his 4th hitch. His supervisors said he displays a professional attitude every day, and is a straight forward and hard working guy! He is happy and eager to learn new tasks and follows procedures correctly.
