Last month was National Safety Month, so we’re spotlighting Jessica Petty, Hyundai North America's Senior Manager, Emerging Issue Investigations! Jessica is a graduate of Cornell University who chose to work in the automotive industry because she loves driving cars and wanted to be able to easily describe and share her work with her kids. Jessica lives in sunny Huntington Beach, CA with her husband, her kids, and occasionally her neighbor's cat. She is most proud of her current team – one of the groups of engineers that look for data trends to evaluate possible safety hazards and work with the other safety teams to further understand the issues. When she isn’t working, she enjoys riding bikes and silly dancing to 90’s pop music with her family. Hyundai takes every safety concern seriously, and we have implemented a system where employees and affiliates can speak freely about possible safety problems. Jessica has been an intricate part of designing an internal program for investigating those safety issues. The best career advice Jessica has received? "You don't know how to do this now, but you can figure it out." We hear that! Thank you, Jessica, for all you do!

Flashing back to 1916, the first Pikes Peak International Hill Climb was held, with the race winner finishing the climb in 20.55.600. Fast forward to 2024 and we're looking to conquer the mountain, only this time – a lot faster. Let's meet our drivers in this year’s Race to the Clouds. Ron Zaras, you may know him from his 14 years working with Ken Block and Hoonigan or his rally driving. And now, he’s making his Pikes Peak debut in the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N production car with the production electric SUV/Crossover record in his sights. Joining him in 2 specially equipped IONIQ 5 N TA (Time Attack) Spec Hyundais are Spanish World Rally Champion, Dani Sordo and the 2021 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb winner, 2-time 24 Hours of Daytona winner Randy Pobst. 1993 record holder and 6-time PPIHC winner, Paul Dallenbach, won't be driving this weekend as scheduled, but he will be in attendance and supporting all of our Hyundai drivers. Best of luck to our drivers! 🏁
