Our industrial team is working on an interesting project with a unique capability. Pracht Wetlands Park in Wichita, KS spans 90 acres and is one of the last remaining wetlands in the Midwest. It offers a sanctuary for a variety of wildlife, including migratory birds, muskrats and frogs. Visitors can watch the wildlife from designated bird blinds or explore the park’s rich plant life by strolling along the elevated boardwalks.     Our team is expanding these boardwalks, built atop helical piers. Helical piers work in a variety of applications, are minimally invasive, and can be placed in most weather conditions. The piers at Pracht Wetlands Park are carefully placed to minimize the environmental impact while providing a solid foundation, giving generations of visitors a chance to enjoy the beautiful wetlands without disturbing the wildlife in the area. 

This is a 140kW roof-mount solar array that Hutton Energy Services installed for HABCO Inc. in Salina, KS. HABCO is an industrial contractor that provides services to clients in the grain, feed, biofuels, plastics, ceramics and fertilizer industries. Our expert team of electrical professionals installed these 580W modules, which are the largest panels we’ve installed to date, and they should have the power capacity to offset a majority of HABCO’s power output.

We helped the leadership team at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe break ground this weekend on a K-8 school project in Dodge City, KS. Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic School was designed by GMCN Architects and will be built by us as an addition to the existing church. With construction of the project kicking off in March 2025, we’re on track to have the school ready for the fall of 2026. Exciting times ahead for the community and the future of education in the area!

Hutton has been working with Ditch Witch UnderCon since 2013 when we built their Park City, KS, location. Three projects later, we’ve started the work on our fourth partnership, this time in Amarillo, TX. Amarillo is an important location for Ditch Witch because it’s the location of their first building, which this new build will be replacing.     This project is a 13,000 SF showroom and shop, similar to previous builds. We’ve gone vertical, recently erecting steel, hoping to get everything dried in and settled before winter hits. Be on the lookout for upcoming progress photos. 

Faith Academy’s new 15,600 SF school in Wichita, was completed in time for the start of the school year. Designed and built by Hutton, the school has 18 classrooms for pre-K through 12th grade students to support their mission of preparing students for college and beyond. Hutton Design Build is a big supporter of innovative education opportunities for Wichita students. Working with the Faith Academy team has been a rewarding experience, and we’re excited to see the impact this new space will have on their growing student body. 

Earlier this month, construction crews from different companies across Kansas stopped their work to recognize an often-invisible safety concern for many people – mental health. On jobsites, we regularly stress the importance of wearing protective glasses and headwear, but many don’t know that there are just as many resources available to protect our mental health, too. For national suicide prevention week earlier this month, Hutton jobsites – and many more across Kansas – held a safety stand down where several leaders from multiple organizations delivered the message to craftspeople, informing them of the many available resources to prioritize their mental health. On Saturday, Hutton team members and their families across Kansas converged on Wichita for the annual Hutton Block Party — Hutton’s way of celebrating our team members across all of our jobsites and offices.     We spent the evening at Botanica, enjoying the beautiful views of the gardens alongside a rousing concert by Big Fat Fun. Team members and their families also got the chance to spend time together, play yard games and eat from local food trucks. Thank you, Hutton team members, for a great year and we hope you had fun celebrating together! 

Last week, Hutton Energy Services hosted a happy hour in our Salina office for North Central Kansas business owners and leaders. While this was an opportunity to try local food and drinks, we also shared some exciting opportunities and incentives that rural business owners can capitalize on if they switch their energy usage to solar energy. Designed and built by our talented team, Dr. Ashley Humlicek and her crew have already begun working with patients in their new space in Northwest Wichita.     This dentist office does dentistry differently. In addition to all the capabilities of a typical dental office, patients can indulge in the spa's treatments, ranging from teeth whitening to Botox or book the HD Smile Spa for parties.  

A key component of the new HUMLICEK FAMILY DENTAL office, designed and built by Hutton Design Build, is its focus on patient comfort. Working with Dr. Ashley Humlicek and her team to actualize that vision resulted in this amazing new space. We can’t wait to show you the finished photography soon!     After finishing this unique project a month early, the Humlicek team cut the ribbon on their new space. This marks the beginning of a new adventure for their team, whose patients will receive a top tier spa day at the same time as their full-service dental appointment.
