If you didn't catch it last night, please watch this great piece highlighting our New New Yorker's program for recent #asylumseekers. We celebrate members like Eskarli from Venezuela who are eager to make their make their mark in their new country. In her own words, "We did not come to be a burden, but to contribute with how much or how little we can contribute to this country." We are grateful to our partners Educational Alliance, The Manny Cantor Center, and Colson Patisserie for supporting this program and our members. https://lnkd.in/eab6eixp Learn more about our New New Yorker's Program here: https://lnkd.in/ei7jxAXa #workforcedevelopment #supportingimmigrants

This year, we partnered with Santander Bank on Cultivate, a program to provide resources, capital, and mentorship to early-stage entrepreneurs in the food-industry in the New York City area. At the end of June, we were invited to celebrate the first graduation of our first partnership cohort for this program! During the ceremony they announced top award winners for Cultivate, one of them being our very own HBKi Start member Shelly Flash from 2 Girls & a Cookshop - Jamaican Tacos who was awarded $16,000! We are so incredibly proud of all our entrepreneurs and are thrilled to be continuing this partnership with Santander. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/ewTMgvYi

We're so proud to be part of the solution connecting migrants and asylum-seekers to the many open jobs in NYC's food sector. We love seeing the passion our members share for food and cooking, and are excited for them to enter an industry with opportunities for growth. Thank you City Harvest for hosting our first cohort in the spring!
