A new wave of innovation in hospitality is coming - are you ready for it? One of my favorite things about Hospitality Daily is how it connects us with people pushing the industry forward. A few weeks ago, Bashar Wali joined the show to discuss the next wave of innovation in hospitality. After we published, I received one of the most thoughtful and detailed responses I've ever seen from today's guest, and I knew I had to bring him on the show. William Graf is the founder and CEO of ONDA, a new hospitality brand that blends the social experience of hostels with the comfort of boutique hotels. Today, on the podcast, we discuss where hospitality might be headed next. Specifically, we dive into the opportunities around guest experience, a topic that's often discussed but rarely with the level of detail Bill brings. 🎧 Listen to the Hospitality Daily Podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts Some of the takeaways: • "Hospitality 3.0" will focus on serving underserved niches rather than creating broad concepts for everyone. Smaller, more focused concepts allow for addressing the specific needs of particular traveler segments. • There's a shift from passive to active experiences across all price points in hospitality. • The four realms of experience (entertainment, educational, aesthetic, and escapist) provide a framework for creating more engaging hospitality concepts. • The biggest opportunities are in the "escapist" realm (active participation and full immersion), as many travelers are seeking it. • There's potential for concepts that go beyond experiences to offer "transformation" for guests. • The ability to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences across multiple locations will be a key differentiator for new hospitality brands. Failure is the fuel that powers innovation. In this short clip, Christopher B Hunsberger, who previously led innovation at Four Seasons and now leads the innovative new hospitality brand Appellation, shares what he's learned about risk and innovation in this industry. Think about it: When was the last time you took a calculated risk? Your next career-defining moment or business breakthrough might be hiding behind an idea you're hesitant to try. What "risky" initiative could propel your career and hospitality business forward if given a chance? And then, as a leader: How are you cultivating a culture where measured risk-taking is encouraged? Remember, innovation rarely happens on the first try. Your team needs the safety to fail, learn, and evolve their ideas. Christopher's advice? Embrace the risk. When an initiative falls flat, resist the urge to abandon ship. Instead, gather your team to dissect the experience. Ask: "What fresh approach could turn this setback into success?" In today's rapidly changing hospitality landscape, playing it safe is the riskiest move of all. Are you ready to fail forward and innovate? Share your thoughts in the comments! How do you balance risk and innovation in your role today? 🎧 Listen to Christopher talk more about this today on the Hospitality Daily Podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts ♻ Repost this with your thoughts to help someone else ➕ Follow Hospitality Daily here for more stories like this

What's one thing you would tell someone considering a career in hospitality? Share your thoughts in the comments... Thanks for a great interview Sean O'Neill!
MGM Resorts International CEO Bill Hornbuckle warns that the hotel industry may soon face a talent crisis. Students aren't signing up for hotel schools like they used to, Hornbuckle says. That trend could hurt the quality of hospitality management, hiring, and labor worldwide. Watch this clip from my chat with him at Skift Global Forum...
