Vice President of Food and Beverage / Head of Restaurants, Bars Events / Luxury and Lifestyle Hotels Restaurants

I loved joining Josiah Mackenzie on his Hospitality Daily podcast—he’s such a fantastic host, and the conversation flowed so well we could have talked for hours. I’m always passionate about discussing the impact that compelling F&B and destination-worthy restaurants and bars have on hotels, and how crucial it is to stay true to your brand (because everything communicates). Special thanks to Abbotts Passage Winery in Glen Ellen for the perfect Sonoma backdrop. I may be biased, but I think this episode is definitely worth a listen! https://lnkd.in/gJvynAYW #restaurants #hospitality #hospitalitypodcast #whotels #kimpton #ihg

Host of Hospitality Daily 🍍 Industry's #1 show on LinkedIn & Google, helping you delight people and make money 🙌 Previously: Global marketing leader, helping hoteliers with operations, revenue & investment.

One of the things I've learned this year is the importance of food and beverage in hospitality, both for the vibes and creating a great atmosphere - but also as a strategic part of the business. That's why I'm thrilled to have Anthony Torres joining us for the next few days to teach us all about this at Hospitality Daily. Anthony has built an amazing career in food and beverage leadership, including roles at Starwood and Kimpton and, most recently, leading this for IHG's luxury and lifestyle hotels. (He shared the full story in an amazing episode with Brian Proctor on Tuesday's Thanks Podcast, which I highly recommend you check out) Anyway - it's beautiful fall weather here in the San Francisco area, so I drove up to Sonoma County to sit down with Anthony surrounded by the vines at the beautiful Abbot's Passage Winery & Mercantile in Glen Ellen to record an in-depth conversation with him on more of what he's learned building a career in F&B - which I find applicable in any area of hospitality - as well as takeaways from Starwood and W Hotels which I find fascinating and more relevant today than ever. Check it out at Hospitality Daily if you'd like 😎

Today, Anthony Torres shares how Starwood, W Hotels, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, and IHG shaped his career with their strong approach to branding. The big idea: A strong brand identity will guide your teams to perform and grow in their careers. Why this matters: Attracting and retaining top talent is a continued challenge. A strong brand doesn’t just draw in guests—it creates a sense of purpose and growth opportunities for employees. By investing in a clear brand identity and culture, hospitality companies can engage staff, build loyalty, and guide talent development, transforming team members into brand advocates and future leaders like Anthony. AI fundamentally changes how people interact with media and businesses—and hospitality is no exception. Hospitality has always been about human interaction - and I don't see that changing. Still, we need to understand that the experience we provide often begins long before someone sets foot on a property. It's often digital....and with rapid shifts in how people search for and make travel decisions, hoteliers are facing a new playing field. We're learning from Adam Wallace, CEO of Spherical today to understand what’s happening and what to do about it. Together, we dive into the world of media and technology in hospitality, discussing the changes underway and where to focus now to truly stand out and succeed. The big idea: Cultivating a unique personality and perspective - and sharing it authentically - is key to resonating with today’s travelers, especially as low-quality AI-generated content floods the market. Why this matters: Today, the guest experience often begins online, and while using AI for quick, cheap content is tempting, it risks eroding trust and connection now—and damaging your brand long-term. Go deeper: Listen to Adam and I discuss this today on the Hospitality Daily Podcast (Apple Podcasts, Spotify), where we cover: • The rapid evolution of hospitality marketing through technology • The importance of authenticity • Strategic storytelling versus low-quality, automated content ("AI slop") • Leveraging high-end content and branding campaigns, like Ritz-Carlton did with Late Checkout • The expanding role of new search tools beyond Google • Generative search optimization 🎧 Listen to the Hospitality Daily Podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts 👉 Let me know in the comments: What's your take on this? ♻ Repost this with your thoughts to help someone else ➕ Follow Hospitality Daily here for more stories like this

Executive leadership teams and hotel ownership across the hospitality industry still don’t reflect the diversity of its workforce—or of the guests and communities it serves. Ashli Johnson, M.S., CHT, CGSP, founder of Hospitality Hued, is on a mission to change that by creating pathways to leadership and ownership for Black and Brown hospitality professionals. Today, Ashli joins us to share her journey from her influential role at Howard University’s Marriott-Sorenson Center for Hospitality to founding Hospitality Hued, an organization dedicated to elevating underrepresented talent in hospitality: 🎧 Listen to Ashli now on the Hospitality Daily Podcast: https://lnkd.in/gMHx6zAg Just a few quotes for you from Ashli as a teaser: • “Hospitality can save the world if we just let it.” • “Ownership is the ultimate step toward economic freedom and real equity in the hospitality industry.” • “Sometimes all it takes to create a pathway is taking a moment to recognize someone’s potential and making an introduction.” ♻ Repost this with your thoughts to help someone else ➕ Follow Hospitality Daily here for more stories like this

Head of Marketing, Springboard Hospitality | Growth for Innovative Hospitality Travel Brands

Josiah Mackenzie and Wanderland London absolute gold! 🙌 Couldn't agree more that we hoteliers (and marketers) put such a focus on adults as the core spenders, that we often forget how much influence kids and teens have on travel purchase decisions. They certainly are a force to be reckoned with! 𝙎𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙣𝙪𝙜𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚...a few standouts: 💡Hotels are the new media for kids brands because they already have the space and and attention of a key, growing segment 💡Imagine the excitement if your next ’surprise and delight’ was catered towards a kid. I know how special I feel in those moments! 💡Start small. A little piece of magic can go a long way. It doesn’t have to be extravagant and expensive, just intentional and evoke emotion that creates a memory of that moment in time 💡Kids loyalty in hospitality is a thing. Start traditions now that build retention in the future 💡An untapped revenue stream - packages, value adds and upsells that increase ADR and drive RevPAR. Not to mention marketing engagement! Worth a 🎧 > Michelle Klein, CHDM Matthew Peschke, CHDM Lisa Jordan, MTA, CHDM Brittany Doyle Brian Hicks Ron Pohl Dina Belon Patrick Pahlke Robert Blood Eve Tronson, CHDM Tyler Anderson Katie Johnson #hospitalitymarketing #kidshospitality
