What a great week! Our team from the City of Hoover , including Mayor Frank Brocato, City Council President John Lyda, and Economic Development Manager Greg Knighton, along with our partners from Shelby County Alabama, Jesslan Wilson, MPA , and 58 INC | Shelby County Economic Development Corporation President Amy Sturdivant, had a fantastic trip to #RaleighDurham and #ResearchTrianglePark as part of the Birmingham Business Alliance Leadership Exchange. We were thrilled to visit the headquarters of BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and visit with senior leadership including President and CEO Jon Stonehouse . #BioCryst operates the Drug Discovery Center of Excellence in Hoover’s #Riverchase Health & Wellness District with a talented and growing R&D team. September was a busy and productive month for Hoover! We are proud to announce that the Hoover Health Care Authority has been awarded a Certificate of Need (CON) by the State of Alabama for the Riverwalk Village development. This unanimous decision by the CON Review Board clears the way for the creation of a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgical center (ASC) and diagnostic center in Riverchase. Mayor Frank Brocato highlighted the significance of this achievement: “This is a perfect scenario of the right idea at the right time.
