Together with 21 trade partners, HomeAid and Richmond American Homes renovated a shared housing facility to create private units to accommodate three Alexandria families for up to two years. This space owned by ALIVE! provides up to 24 months of transitional housing and support for women and their families. The first floor was reconfigured to include a residential apartment as well as staff office space, a resident common area, a half bath for staff, and additional storage space under the stairwell. The second and third floors were also renovated into two separate residential units. Thanks to the partnership of HomeAid, Richmond American Homes, and the Trade Partners who worked on the project saved ALIVE $107,739 in labor, time, and expertise. https://lnkd.in/gRxUQEkQ

About us
HomeAid’s mission is to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education. To achieve its mission, HomeAid connects regional builders and housing industry professionals with nonprofits focused on ending homelessness. This connection allows each group to do what they do best. HomeAid’s partner builders and trade partners donate their expertise, time, and resources to renovate or build homeless shelters, housing facilities, and other nonprofit spaces. This generous donation allows organizations to allocate their scarce resources on programming and interventions to work toward sustainably ending homelessness. HomeAid National Capital Region is the official nonprofit of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA) and is a chapter of HomeAid America.

Thank you HomeAid National Capital Region for including us in the 270,000 diapers they donated to 38 nonprofits! These diapers will help our client's families budget their expenses on other necessities like food and alleviate some of their stress.
