Thank you to our amazing staff, interns, and community volunteers who have braved the heat the last two days to plant new landscaping in the front of the Family CareCenter and sweep and clean the inside in preparation for our Grand Re-Opening next week! Finishing touches will be completed Tuesday, July 30th - please reach out if you can help!

Why is affordable housing important? Because sometimes, the resources available in the community aren’t enough to stop people from experiencing homelessness. Over 1 third (36%) of Californians sought resources from their community and the government before their experience with homelessness. This number was even higher for adults in families experiencing homeless, in which over half (61%) sought supportive services before their homelessness began (2023 California Statewide Study of People Experiencing Homelessness. While there are many wonderful programs out there that can help prevent homelessness, this statistic shows the importance of housing that people CAN AFFORD TO KEEP, so they can remain safely housed and not risk entering the cycle of homelessness.

A massive shoutout and heartfelt thank you to Team Rubicon, who toiled away this weekend at our Family CareCenter painting and landscaping! They helped remove all the plants and install new water lines outside, and then inside they painted the entire lobby, giving it a needed refresh and a lovely update! Thank you again, team Rubicon, we couldn't do it without you!
