At HomeAid, our mission goes beyond providing shelter – we strive to create safe, stable environments where individuals can rebuild their lives. Today, we’re honored to share Cinthia’s courageous journey. Cinthia found herself unable to pursue education due to limited opportunities. In 2022, she graduated from WorkTexas, a HomeAid partner offering construction training. After graduation, Cinthia accepted a job offer from Quiddity Engineering as a construction manager and received college reimbursement to pursue her goal of becoming a civil engineer. Cinthia, who spent nearly 10 years working in the underground utilities industry, realized her passion for residential construction. “I really wanted to be in residential construction so I could see the project from start to finish, a beautiful home,” she shared. WorkTexas and HomeAid Houston helped her see the potential for her future. Cinthia’s journey started right out of high school, managing multi-million-dollar projects in utilities and construction. Discovering WorkTexas through an Instagram post, she applied for a scholarship and enrolled in the program with support from Houston Community College’s Career for You Scholarship. HomeAid Houston’s dedication to providing opportunities has been instrumental in serving individuals like Cinthia, helping them rebuild their lives and careers in supportive communities.
