At HomeAid, our mission goes beyond providing shelter – we strive to create safe, stable environments where individuals can rebuild their lives. Today, we’re honored to share Cinthia’s courageous journey. Cinthia found herself unable to pursue education due to limited opportunities. In 2022, she graduated from WorkTexas, a HomeAid partner offering construction training. After graduation, Cinthia accepted a job offer from Quiddity Engineering as a construction manager and received college reimbursement to pursue her goal of becoming a civil engineer. Cinthia, who spent nearly 10 years working in the underground utilities industry, realized her passion for residential construction. “I really wanted to be in residential construction so I could see the project from start to finish, a beautiful home,” she shared. WorkTexas and HomeAid Houston helped her see the potential for her future. Cinthia’s journey started right out of high school, managing multi-million-dollar projects in utilities and construction. Discovering WorkTexas through an Instagram post, she applied for a scholarship and enrolled in the program with support from Houston Community College’s Career for You Scholarship. HomeAid Houston’s dedication to providing opportunities has been instrumental in serving individuals like Cinthia, helping them rebuild their lives and careers in supportive communities. Building a Future Together: AMH's Impact with HomeAid - AMH has been instrumental in supporting HomeAid’s mission to provide housing and support services to those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Their commitment goes beyond building and rehabilitating homes; it extends to uplifting communities nationwide. Last year, AMH made a significant impact by donating nearly 60,000 diapers during HomeAid Utah’s Diaper House Competition. This contribution equates to 6,000 days worth of diapers, directly aiding families in need. AMH has also raised funds through HomeAid Colorado’s Builders for Babies event and is gearing up for another round of the Diaper House Competition in Utah. David Singelyn, CEO of AMH and a member of HomeAid’s National Board of Directors, highlights their dedication to supporting neighborhoods and empowering families facing housing insecurity. Their sponsorship, leadership, and engagement exemplify a shared vision for a more sustainable, resilient, and equitable society.
