This weekend we were happy to sponsor the Black Families Facing Cancer Event hosted by the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. We were glad to connect with the community and share our mission to provide children who have a parent or primary caregiver battling cancer holistic support and meaningful relationships as they process a cancer diagnosis. Torry Holt was able to attend and interact with event attendees, sharing his personal story. Pictured above is Torry and Kesem student, nicknamed Dill. We are always glad to take part in and sponsor events that align with our mission!

Congratulations to our Executive Director, Liz McLean, for her graduation from the Raleigh Chamber Leadership Raleigh program. Liz was selected to represent her LR48 class on the leadership Raleigh Alumni board. With a huge passion for our community, it’s no surprise to see her leading by example through all aspects of her life. Congratulations Liz, we are so proud to call you ours!

Yesterday, Executive Director Liz McLean and Program Coordinator Shannon Kearney were joined by Holt Brothers Construction Director of Marketing, Deveney Jeffs at the 2024 Raleigh Chamber Women’s Leadership Conference. It was an incredible day full of opportunities to learn, network and grow. Our favorite part of the day was hearing from the wonderful keynote speaker Sam Rapoport. Sam is the Senior Director of DEI with the National Football League (NFL) and has been an influential catalyst to bringing more women into the space. It was an amazing experience and we are looking forward to seeing the positive change she brings to the sport! #RaleighWLC24

Next up on our team highlights is Kimley-Horn. The team at Kimely-Horn brought the heat & we loved seeing them out on the field. We’d like to call attention to the emphasis they put into the fundraising aspect of our event. Through office bakes sales, a giveback partnership with Manhattan Cafe and a pancake sale at their office, they were able to raise funds to fuel our mission. Thank you for your enthusiasm to support children who have a parent or primary caregiver battling cancer! Feel compelled to give today? See below! https://lnkd.in/ev4mBFeP
