HIP was proud to attend the UnidosUS (@WeAreUnidosUS) conference! We joined leaders from government, advocacy, and philanthropy to explore solutions for improving Latine community health, wealth, and power. We were inspired by the powerful words from Janet Murguía, President and CEO of UnidosUS, at their conference this week, “Our hopes and dreams are on the ballot this year! ... we have to vote to protect our democracy.” This call to action is also a reminder that we have so much power in ourselves and within our communities to influence our future. We all have a role to play — from investing in powerful civic movements, advocating for equitable policies, or even sharing our platforms — to nourish a vision of a world where we all thrive.

This is a pivotal year for our country's democracy. We hope you take today to not only rest & enjoy summer time but to also consider actions you can take to help us achieve a multi-racial democracy. While progress has been made these last few centuries there is still much to do! ¡Pa'Lante!
