Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) reposted this
Business Administration: CIS & CS @ CSU Fresno | Capital One Scholar | HSF Scholar | Craig School of Business Scholar
Earlier this month I had the incredible opportunity to be part of 100 students selected out of 1200 applicants for the Capital One Launchpad: Legacy and Leadership Program, a week-long immersion program with a case study competition at Capital One's headquarters in McLean, Virginia, and having the sole honor of representing California State University, Fresno, the Craig School of Business and the Craig Business Scholars! In this program, I had the opportunity to meet such incredible people at Capital One at all levels of seniority. Namely, I wish to thank Brandon Medina, NDCCDP, Ashley Dade, Samara Chamble, Nyla Walker, Pablo Ruiz, Serena Villalba, our coaches Cynthia Pettoruto and Jason Andrade, CPA, MBA, and everyone else at Capital One for all of the effort and time they put into making this program an exciting, immersive, and collaborative learning experience. I look forward to having the chance to pursue incredible opportunities with Capital One, diving headfirst into their unique and world-renowned work culture and working with not only the best but the friendliest in the business! I would not have learned about this opportunity without the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and its partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. I wish to express my greatest gratitude to Luis Sanchez, MBA, and Belia Gonzalez McDonald for their constant support for my fellow program participants and I. I am excited to see what further partnerships and opportunities I can pursue with HACU and its incredible team! To all of my extremely talented fellow participants I had the pleasure of meeting, working with, and making valuable friendships and connections with, I wish all of you the best in your future endeavors and look forward to crossing paths again!

Today, July 25, marks National Intern Day! I’d like to highlight some of the internships that have empowered and mentored me over the years 🎓🥳A big thank you to the Bank of America Student Leaders Program for giving me one of my first internships at YWCA USA. In 2022, I had the privilege of interning with the El Paso Museum of History and serving as a Young Ambassador with the National Museum of the American Latino Smithsonian Institution which deepened my connection with my community’s culture. Last summer, I’ve was honored to join the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Internship Program as a Language Interpreter Intern with the The National Institutes of Health. This year, I was fortunate to yet again relocate to the Nation’s Capital upon being selected to intern at the FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine under the Office of the Director👩🏽🔬💊.These experiences have not only provided me with valuable mentors and insights but have also shown me that students like myself can achieve dreams once thought impossible. 🫶🏽#NationalInternDay2024
