These Jewish students give us hope! 👏 Jewish students from campuses across the country spoke at a roundtable hosted by the Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism. The six students spoke about their challenging experiences with antisemitism during the past school year, expressed the urgent need for colleges and universities to take action and prevent antisemitism, and discussed their hopes for the future.

Hillel International’s New Professionals Institute (NPI) welcomed 200 incredible new Hillel professionals at Washington University in St. Louis! Over the past few days they connected with peers from all over the world, learned ways to make Jewish life even more vibrant, and left feeling empowered and inspired to make a difference on campus. We’re so grateful for each and every one of them for their future efforts in supporting Jewish students. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things they do at their Hillel!

Ella Elimelech didn’t think she could love Hillel any more than she already did. Then she became one of Hillel International’s 2024 summer interns! She says she's learning so much every day -- about project management, communication, and organization, AND about Jewish persistence and pride! Ella is ready to use this experience to become a stronger leader on campus next semester as Terps for Israel president at University of Maryland. Throwing it back to March, when Penn State Hillel went to Curacao for their alternative spring break trip! Jewish students were immersed in Curacao's culture, exploring its Jewish community there, learning about Jewish heritage, and of course, doing meaningful and impactful community service. In our opinion, this is one of the most fun mitzvahs you can do! 🤭

After two decades, Hillel is simply part of who Debbie Yunker Kail is. Earlier this year, she celebrated her 10th anniversary as the Hillel Jewish Student Center at ASU executive director. 🎉 In her time at Arizona State University, Hillel has TRIPLED in size — including students, staff, and budget. She has not only made deep connections with Jewish students on campus, but has been an anchor for them after October 7. Debbie says there is still a lot of work to do, and she has BIG plans! Meet Jason Kuperberg, an entrepreneur and co-founder of AI platform HyperWrite (OthersideAI) who said his experience at Syracuse Hillel changed his life. “I never would have seen myself getting involved with Jewish life until I started connecting with Hillel, but because I did, and the right people were there, and I was able to connect with them, it made such a difference. And I want that for every other Jewish student.” Now, as a generous and dedicated Hillel supporter, he hopes to bring transformative Jewish experiences to as many students as possible. A group of senior Hillel professionals recently returned from Hillel International's Sipurim trip -- gaining a deeper understanding of a changed Israeli society, and building the resilience of our Hillel movement. They listened to stories of heartbreak and hope as they met with family members of 10/7 hostages, survivors of the massacre at the Nova Music Festival, and Israeli dignitaries and scholars. Now these Hillel professionals are heading back to their own campuses with greater knowledge of the challenges confronting Israelis and better ways to support their students during challenging times. We brought over 100 campus professionals to Israel during three trips in the first seven months of 2024, and will continue to support Hillel professionals who serve our movement.

As someone who was born in Israel, Einav never expected his Birthright trip to impact him the way it did. Einav, a rising junior at University of Maryland, thought he knew everything there was to know about Israel. Then October 7 happened. Einav wanted to connect deeply to his roots and to the place that was a fundamental part of him. That's when he went to Maryland Hillel and applied for a Birthright trip. Read more about why Einav says this was one of the most impactful experiences in his life ➡️ https://ow.ly/phE550SG84u
