The voice of the Tennessee Titans, Mike Keith, visited with White House Area Chamber of Commerce members and visitors at a lively luncheon to preview the season, players and coaching staff. Our partner Ascension Saint Thomas has a long history with the NFL team, and both have contributed to Nashville’s and Middle Tennessee’s growth and evolution. So we were excited that for our official new chamber member introduction, Dr. Brian Wilcox, an amazing heart surgeon and Chief Clinical Officer for Ascension Saint Thomas could join our own Dr. Geoff Lifferth, ER doc and Chief Medical Officer for Highpoint, to talk about the exciting new ER we hope to bring to Robertson County! It was a SIGNificant week yet again for our staff. The teams at Highpoint Health -- Riverview and Highpoint Health -- Trousdale both commemorated the installation of their new building signs, the visual representation of our new brand announced about 9 months ago. Hartsville Mayor Jack McCall and Representative William Slater joined us at our Trousdale campus to support the deepening partnership with Ascension Saint Thomas, and CEO Rod Harkleroad affirmed to the Riverview team that the new sign symbolizes a history of great care and a future of more access. We are excited to share that Highpoint Health intends to submit a Certificate of Need (CON) application to establish a free-standing emergency room (FSED) in White House, Tennessee.   This proposed emergency department is an exciting step forward in our commitment to providing much-needed emergency care to our growing population in Middle Tennessee. The proposed new facility will help to provide the community with timely access to essential emergency medical services and help to enhance the overall health and well-being of our community.   We are dedicated to supporting our community in White House with this vital resource, and we look forward to sharing additional updates as we move forward.    #HighpointHealth #WhiteHouseTN #EmergencyCare #CommunityHealth

We are excited to announce that our Emergency Room at Sumner Station is undergoing a multi-million-dollar capital project to increase licensed emergency room beds. Established in 2017, the ER, known today as Highpoint Health Sumner Station – ER with Ascension Saint Thomas, is located on Big Station Camp Boulevard and Vietnam Veterans State Highway 386, on the borders of the communities of Gallatin and Hendersonville. In the seven years of service to Greater Sumner County, usage of the emergency room has grown exponentially. In 2023, annual visits surpassed 12,500! Sumner County is one of the fastest growing counties in Tennessee with 33.25% growth since 2010, and Gallatin outpaces all other locations in Sumner County with 16.44% population growth since 2020. “We see the allure Sumner County, and in particular, Gallatin has, and have made the decision to expand to meet this increased demand for healthcare services,” said Chief Executive Officer and Market President of Highpoint Health Rod Harkleroad. “The leadership of Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas is strongly committed to providing quality healthcare close to home, with emergency care being one of the things we do best.” To learn more: https://lnkd.in/eChhB4EM

Last week, Highpoint Health -- Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas became the first hospital in Tennessee to successfully implant a first-of-its-kind dissolvable stent for people with chronic limb-threatening ischemia below the knee. The Abbott Espirit BTK System opens a blockage and supports vessel healing before dissolving over time. Until now, there were limited treatment options approved for blocked arteries below the knee, and this system addresses an unmet need for those with this serious form of Peripheral Vascular Disease (PAD). Dr. Gary Yawn, an interventional cardiologist with Ascension Saint Thomas Heart, performed the first procedures at Highpoint Health -- Sumner, a Lifepoint Health® facility in Gallatin, TN. Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas was honored recently by Lifepoint Health with the company’s first ever Innovation Award at an annual awards ceremony held in Dallas, Texas. The Lifepoint Health® Innovation Award, which will be presented annually moving forward, recognizes a deserving hospital system that has demonstrated leveraging innovation as a key ingredient of its success.   Highpoint Health was recognized for its innovative new partnership with Ascension Saint Thomas to expand access to high quality care and services in the Northern Middle Tennessee region. The joint venture brings together the organizations’ clinical excellence, best practices, and caregivers to collaborate in new ways – and improve the lives of patients. Ascension Saint Thomas specialists now support several key clinical programs as well as expanded telemedicine capabilities for all three Highpoint facilities.    Additionally, Highpoint Health – Sumner was highlighted for its use of data and analytics to address two focus areas - patient throughput and operating room (OR) schedule optimization.
