We truly are grateful to be among such outstanding cooperatives!

In collaboration with Basin and several of our members, we were proud to donate $22,000 to the 26th Annual Cattleman’s Ball in Scotts Bluff County, Neb. The Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska is a charity that raises millions of dollars for cancer research. Ninety percent of the profits support the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, while 10%is donated back to local health and wellness programs. Held in a different, unique location each year, the Cattlemen’s Ball allows host communities to showcase their area of the state. Supporting the community is a core principle for all cooperatives, and it is a privilege to contribute to this cause alongside Chimney Rock PPD, High West Energy, Midwest Electric, Northwest Rural PPD, Niobrara Electric Association, Panhandle Rural Electric Membership Association, Roosevelt PPD, and Wheat Belt Public Power District. Our 87th Annual Meeting is this week, and we are so excited! We are holding our annual meeting virtually this year, which we have done for the last two years, and we have had great attendance. Does anybody else hold virtual annual meetings? If so, what do you do to bring the same experience to them in the comfort of their homes?

✨ A special thank you to the local businesses in our area for supporting our first Military May BBQ Bash! Thank you to Allwayz Manufacturing, Admiral Beverage Corporation, and Bluffs Bakery and Currie's Dining for providing awesome prizes, drinks, and dessert for our BBQ. The support from everyone means so much to High West Energy, but it means even more to our military members. You all rock! 💙 ❤️

It's Military May, and while we always appreciate those who serve and have served our country, we like to bring special attention to them this month. This year, we hosted our very first barbecue at our on-base shop, and it was a wonderful time! More posts will follow, but we want to thank everyone who helped, sponsored, and came to enjoy the day. Stay tuned for more updates! 💙 ❤️

Join us in recognizing National Electrical Safety Month this May! Safety is our priority year-round, and this month we're shining a spotlight on it. Our Safety Director, Tyler Gabel, keeps us up-to-date on safety protocols not only within High West Energy but also in our surrounding communities. We're grateful for opportunities like Farm Safety Day with Pine Bluffs FFA and Sally Wheeler to educate youth about electricity and safety. Thank you for letting us be a part of it! #ElectricalSafetyMonth #CommunitySafety #YouthEducation

On National Teacher Day, we want to give a huge shout-out to the teachers in our service area who support High West Energy year-round from coming out and learning more about our operations to coloring pictures for our linemen for Lineman Appreciation Month. We could not do it without the awesome teachers who facilitate this. Shoutout to Ty Anderson at Pine Bluffs Junior-Senior High for allowing his students to explore various career fields within our industry this past week. You guys rock!

Wow, what a whirlwind of a week so far! We had a pretty big storm pass through part of our service territory this past weekend and we have been working all week to repair the damage and restore power. After surveying about 95% of our service territory, we have 582 broken poles. 158 poles have been replaced and we have 424 poles left to replace! Our members have been awesome and we have had so much help from other cooperatives and members of our community. We will keep you updated on our progress!
