June 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of National Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month. Did you know that ND Sen. Kent Conrad first sought recognition in 2010 for ND National Guard Staff Sgt. Joe Biel, who battled PTSD after two tours in Iraq? June 27, Sgt. Biel’s birthday, was named PTSD Awareness Day and is observed annually. In addition to veterans, PTSD affects about 8 million Americans each year. Symptoms like sleeplessness, irritability, and self-destructive behavior can be severe. If you or someone you know needs help, support is available: https://hhsnd.site/81l
