HGA is honored to be recognized for a Plumbing Design of the Year award by Plumbing Engineer magazine (PHCPPros) for our work on the prefabricated modular short-stay facility and observation unit for M Health Fairview (Fairview Health Services) St. John’s Hospital. The project, a partnership with The Boldt Company, delivered a short-stay facility in under one year. While the unit was being built offline, the plumbing engineering team analyzed the hospital’s infrastructure to assess whether the new unit could obtain medical gas and hot water from the existing hospital and where the storm and sewer systems could connect. Learn more about how the team ensured the plumbing groundwork was in place so the modules could seamlessly come together and remain maintainable long term, here: https://lnkd.in/eEZtZSKJ

The voice of the patient is crucial in designing and planning facilities for pediatric health. Often the patient is unable to advocate for themselves, so HGA uses a variety of tools including patient and family advisory councils, creating a framework for engagement and measuring outcomes through pre-and-post occupancy evaluations. In Healthcare Facilities Today, Mezio Zangirolami, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB and Erin Labrec present case studies on designing for pediatric patients: https://lnkd.in/eaePa_JG
