Olympic sailing starts today! Every gold medal sailor's journey starts with an education, many at places like the Wayzata Community Sailing Center ⛵ As an accredited sailing school, Wayzata Sailing's mission is to increase access to the environment through sailing education while offering programs for all ages and abilities including adaptive and outreach-oriented experiences. The center's new ecofriendly 3,500 SF boathouse is located on Lake Minnetonka, serving as a flexible, open classroom with direct connection to outdoor teaching and a continual focus back on the lake 🌊 Bonus points if you can spot all four dog pics 🐕

"The concept of 'nothing about us, without us, is for us' is integral to how I view any project. When you’re serving a group of people — no matter how well intentioned you are — you are never going to improve their circumstance if you don’t engage them throughout the design process." In this Quick Take with Equity Design Lead Noah Exum, he discusses how his background in community organizing and interior design brings a unique perspective to his work, how the built environment provides opportunities for people to express their identity and more: https://lnkd.in/e6NB2faa

Last week, we joined Graco to celebrate a milestone — a ribbon cutting on a transformative building expansion at their facility in Anoka, Minnesota. The 177,00 square foot addition doubles the facility's manufacturing footprint while planning for flexibility, allowing their manufacturing processes to be reconfigured to accommodate further expansions. Congrats, Graco!

When the STOCKBRIDGE MUNSEE COMMUNITY Band of Mohican Indians decided to shift their Health and Wellness Center toward renewable energy sources and work towards energy sovereignty, they partnered with HGA’s engineering team to assess a variety of sustainable options. Featured in PHCPPros, a geothermal system was selected as the most viable option. HGA and general contractor, Ahern took care to ensure there were no adverse environmental impacts on the site’s ecology and hydrology during the system’s installation. Since completion in 2021, the tribe has saved 63,000 gallons of water and 46,300 gallons of propane annually, supporting the tribe’s commitment to continue being good stewards of Mother Earth while reducing their carbon footprint. Happy 10th birthday to the University of Minnesota's 'new' Northrop auditorium! 🎂 In 2011, HGA was tasked with an extensive, three-year renovation of the nearly century-old structure. In addition to improved sightlines, acoustics and patron comfort, the renovation added a number of new spaces that dramatically increased opportunities for new and diverse programming, attracting both on-campus organizations and community groups. Ten years later, the renovation continues to pay off. Check out this Insights piece to learn why Northrop's second act was such a success: https://lnkd.in/eXnh5fcY
