Congratulations to our structural heart team for completing the first minimally invasive tricuspid edge-to-edge repair (TEER) procedure at Hendrick Health and in the region. The Abbott TriClip™ System is the first-of-its-kind device to treat patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR), a disorder in which the valve between the two right heart chambers does not close properly. TR is often debilitating, causing symptoms such as shortness of breath and fatigue, and when left untreated, may progress into conditions such as atrial fibrillation and heart failure. Traditionally, the only treatment option for TR has been surgery. Visit hendrickhealth.org to learn more about the innovative heart and vascular services available at Hendrick Health.
About us
For more than nine decades, Hendrick Health has constantly been there to meet the wide-ranging healthcare needs of the Texas Midwest. From its humble beginnings as West Texas Baptist Sanitarium to today's expansive 500-bed facility, the hospital has grown in size and scope. At the heart of today's campus stands the original five-story building, a nucleus of its earliest brown brick and mortar, around which a steady pattern of growth has matured the facility to ten times its original size. Yet, despite the passing of time and the many changes the years have yielded, the commitment of Hendrick Health System and its staff remain the same: to deliver high quality healthcare emphasizing excellence and compassion consistent with the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.

Thank you to the 1,712 participants and 100-plus volunteers who took our slogan "think pink, roll big" to heart to make this year's Bunco for Breast Cancer a glittering success. Attendees were a sight to see dressed for the Roaring '20s theme for the 20th annual event. Best of all, the event raised more than $125,000 for The Hope Fund at Hendrick, which helps pay for mammograms for women in our area who would otherwise be unable to afford one. Mammograms are so important because early detection is a key strategy in fighting Breast Cancer.

Did you know that Hendrick Health is a nonprofit healthcare system directed by a local, volunteer board? It's been that way since our founding in 1924. Through the years, we have grown with the community, creating jobs and continually reinvesting in infrastructure and equipment to offer a wide range of comprehensive healthcare services so people can stay close to home for their medical care.

Hendrick Health celebrated its 100th birthday today with a convocation at First Baptist Church in Abilene. Thank you to former Board member and Baptist General Convention of Texas representative Ward Hayes for presenting Hendrick Health President and CEO Brad Holland a certificate for the occasion. In the closing benediction and charge during the convocation, pastor Richard Darden, a current Hendrick Board member, encouraged continuing another century of service to our communities. #Hendrick100
